I no not much people will but players like konsa don't get me rough he plays alright but sometimes I think he slows the play down specially when the players want to attack and were having problems with that as it is and we need someone that nose were goal is

Well said Neil, absolutely no place for that rubbish. Disgraceful and very disappointing. Form... we've been performing at such a high level for so long, maybe the players are just not able to reach it. And when there's a few like that. It's bound to drop off. And that's when the rotation should help. With Bailey out of sorts and no Diaby to bring the pace... no wonder we're not firing fully. The answer? I'd like to sign a Diaby replacement in Jan. But before then, how about giving Ned a chance at RB instead of putting Konsa there? He certainly can do a bit of a Maatsen/Moreno job getting forward

I don't blame Mings at all. They've underperfomermed as a group in a few games now with the new standards they've set for themselves. The international break is come at a good time for us.

I posted after the game in Brugge that I'd be tempted to put Onana and Kamara in the double pivot, pushing Youri further up again, so I agree with you there Neil! Last season we had wobbles, lost to Legia, got battered by Spurs, battered by Newcastle and some other poor results, so this isn't something new for this team and Emery. We've played some very good football at times this season so I have full faith we're going to see the team clicking again at some point soon.

I think that the return of our long-term injured players have upset the status quo. But I don't think that we are going to just Roll Over, Lay Down.!

Its quite simple. Watkins needs dropping. Hes been poor for ages now. Duran is hungry and full of energy and deserves his start. Mings didnt do too bad other than the mistake he made... but is he really better than Torres or Carlos? I dont think so. Cash aint good enough. Turning his back on Son when he crossed the ball was a disgrace. Konsa is solid and can fill in at right back til january. Digne needs to be starting over Maatsen for me. Crosses a ball like no other and is more experienced. Give Duran his hour up front on HIS OWN.

Certain players have got us to this point but if we are to progress then we need to thank them and move on, in my opinion Cash, Carlos, McGinn and Mings are in that group for me, doesn't need to happen in the next window but I see it needing to happen

I am really worried for tomorrow night if we play the way we did on wednesday night liverpool will batter us. What damage will that do to our confidence then. International break can't come quick enough. A break away from club football is needed and come back and get a result against Palace and get going again.

Where do I start. The selection was wrong. Carlos is too slow mentally and physically. His sideway passes to konsa or to mings are so slow that it allows their player to close down quicker, making it harder to play out from the back. I think konsa needed to be next to mings. 1st full debut since injury for mings and konsa there would have gave him familiarity. Ned should have played RB, a lesser team so perfect for him to start then if not doing great could have been taken off. The little flicks and around the corner passes from tielemans didnt work all game. Oli is struggling with hold up play and movement. Rogers as good as he is doesn't release the ball forward quickly enough, he likes to run with it. Last season our transition from midfield to attack was quicker as the balls were slid through. We don't have that this season, 1 pass from mid to Oli has been replaced with 1 pass to Rogers then a delayed ball through in which time the defense has time to close the running angles down for Oli. Crossing! Why are any of our players not capable of crossing or when they do, they cant beat the 1st man? Bailey can't take anyone on. And Maatsen rarely did either. Overall the pace of the game, movement and passing has become lethargic and it needs to have a tempo injection. This season our defence isn't playing as high up. Where as we would move the ball from defenders around the Half way line we are now doing that with midfield which in turn leaves a bigger gap between attack and midfield. We just look a very different side this season. No wing play, no overlapping at all of any sort and too heavily through the middle. There's a fine line with keeping the ball and recycling sideways to be turned over and trying a progressive pass. We need more from all the players. Mings mistake was silly and a mistake but even without that I don't think we'd gave scored. We aren't the quick progressive team we were last season and that needs to be addressed quickly.

Penalties exist to stop cheating, specifically denying goal scoring opportunities. Letter of the law blah blah blah, common sense should have applied here, as it did with Arsenal. That said, we were woeful and deserved to lose that game.

Since the loss to Arsenal it's getting more and more obvious that we absolutely miss Diaby especially now that Bailey is in really poor form. We look ponderous, predictable and way too easy to play against. I don't want to go in on Ming's too much but you have to ask yourself "what in god's name was he thinking" Worrying times because we seem to be in a bit of a slump at the moment. Let's hope the Sultan of Unai can get us back on track and quickly. UTV

Our rest in possession game puts our own team to sleep from the looks of it. This was really bad. Disapointed to hear Emery talk about how good we played in the first half. We were not good even then.

Ah Paddy stop tryin to bring in a democratically elected man in another country into a Villa podcast. 72million people voted for him no matter what you think of him. Bad form. Anyway,Villa were shite, true, Kamara was the best player. Emery took off Rogers instead of Bailey wtf? Emery was chopping and changing all over the shop. It seemed like he was throwing shit at the wall to see what would stick. Watching the Bologna game I thought we were playing the best football I've seen us play, since then we've sunken lower and lower until tonight which was fuckin woeful. We'll get hammered by Liverpool ( I hope not) and see what we can do in the break. Something's going on behind the scenes I reckon.

Lost our Glitter going forward, first half not too bad and pretty even, I thought. Some of the crosses/passing was just poor. That said if Mings hadn't had his moment of madness it would have been a good point considering. Wasn't mad on Rodgers coming off for Buendia. We're in a dip, it happens. Liverpool looking like a tough game, with them being at it. An international break, is hopefully, a timely for a re group. We could do with a decent performance on Saturday. Not time to panic. UTV 💜🩵

Konsa is nowhere near our best player imo. He gets a big pass from fans. He was awful tonight. Arrogantly trying turns when an easy pass was on. We havent defended well in a year and hes a constant. I like konsa, not here to go at him. But I dont understand the pass he gets. Hes been an ever present for the poor end of last season and start of this one. Please stop picking a few out you dont like. There's bad play from popular players too

Konsa is a CB by trade. Versus Spurs he was forced to move to RB, because of Cash going off. Today he is forced to stay there, because we didnt recruit properly in the summer for a Cash upgrade. But then he must convert back, with Pau coming on fresh also. Swapping out defenders is never ideal. I wont blame a player, who is filling in. Its on the manager and the owners for not buying a player who can compete with Cash and surpass him in the summer. Konsa and Torres are our very best CB partnership. He also came out for the interview after the match and it should have been Mings apologising/explaining the error. V. hard to gather consistency when you dont know which position your going to be playing half the time. RB/CB roles are quite different from one another now in the modern age. Blasting £90m on Onana and Maatsen seems crazy, when RB, CB, DMC, WG and 2nd choice keeper were needed. Moreno probably could have stayed and challenged at LB, and a European quality RB should have been a priority, over Maatsen. Or develop Kaine Kesler Hayden. Sometimes its easy to remain at the well for too long. Cash, McGinn, Mings etc all have had 5/6 hard years at the club. We arent at the same level anymore, so making do isnt really an option as they progress to 30+ y/o . Cold hard facts Even vs Spurs, you could see how angry Emery was when Cash was calling to be replaced. Not the first time this season hes been injured or needed to come off. And it just so happened to be after Son started getting the better of him. Alot of this team cant do a full 90. But when it happens again and again at the back, it wrecks a managers shape/formation and game plan for substitutions. If Emery asked for a RB and never got it, that could be why he wasnt happy. Konsa was getting picked to play RB last season too. I heard Di Lorenzo was a target, until he signed a bumper extention at Napoli. Konsa is head and shoulders above 99% of this team. Only Martinez and Watkins are in the same bracket in my opinion. They pushing on in age now also.

i was wondering when our luck would run out this season, idk about anyone else but these results have been coming for a while, not been happy with the performances all season especially defensively. i think players like konsa, mcginn, bailey and ramsey have dwelled on the ball far too much and it just makes it so easy to defend against us, we lack tempo and we aren't finding space like we did at the start of last season because of that. he's got good potential but nedeljkovic is nowhere near the level we need for a backup right now and cash is becoming injury prone. onana was a bad signing too, 50m for a player that is probably 3rd choice cm is not good business in the short term, he just doesn't push the needle at all, we didnt really address most of our problems with the squad in the summer and if anything we are probably worse overall than last year. even going back to buendia instead of zaniolo looks like a downgrade at this point

I absolutely love Morgz. But... has our downturn in form coincided with us changing our style of play to accommodate him in the middle post-Xmas? Feel a lot of pressure has suddenly fallen on him. How did we play against City/Arsenal last season? It was different to how we play now and can't work it out. Just to clarify, love Morg. Not a ding on him at all. More a tactical query.
