How do you account for the additional space of the adapter plate?
@timshop27005 ай бұрын
The thickness of the adapter plate was figured out first
@77magnuss5 ай бұрын
@@timshop2700 Based on what though? An original engine/transmission mate doesn’t have that extra space, so what allows for an extra inch plus for an adapter, a thicker clutch? How did you calculate the thickness of the adapter?
@timshop27005 ай бұрын
@77magnuss I took a Subaru transmission and measured the point at which the input shaft rides in the pilot bearing. Then I measured where the flywheel sits on the block. After some messing around, adding, and subtracting, you come up with a necessary thickness for the adapter plate because of where the pilot bearing rides/input shaft location. Kind of a hard thing to explain

@@timshop2700 Ok. Yeah, probably easier to visual with parts in front of you. I’m considering a swap into a Porsche 944 and this is the step I’m not sure about, but obviously it can be done. Everyone who has done videos skips over the calculation of this. I’ve been trying to find something with the basic concept explained but so far I haven’t. Thanks

🤔 I wonder if you could just wire in a flasher relay to the other bypass ignition relay so when you hit the flames the flasher relay flashes off and on your ingition

I am running a 1991 toyota 2.5 liter DOHC 4 valve V6 to a Bus transaxle. Engine was rated at 150 hp stock but its putting down 203 rwhp now in my sand rail. Its putting 193 rwtq now as well. More power than it would ever need. It will pull a wheelie in the sand with sand paddles and it rips on the street .

Why not just connect the switch on to the wire? Like on and off, without the relay. Any downsides?
@timshop27008 ай бұрын
The reason is because it's thicker, meaning the coils pull more amperage. You can do that, but you have to use wires and a switch that can handle the higher amperage

Have you ever had problems I just care if I get stuck I can us reverse and first with out being scared of ruining the transmission.

Is this subarugears heavy duty version? No oil holes in the pinion?
@timshop2700 Жыл бұрын
Why would you need oil holes in the pinion? The fluid is splashed all over the place during use. This is just subarugear's regular kit.

@@timshop2700 the oil holes feed the awd version. Subarugears only had this version originally. Now they have their high horse power version that doesn’t have oil holes since we dont need them with the 2wd only. You didn’t show the pinion during your assembly. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJOlko1-nNxnoas
