I'm from Longview Texas we caught frogs by hand on the Sabine River no gig Pole no net
@LouisianaOutdoorsmen21 күн бұрын
@@waynepharis316 we only use the net when they are a bit too far on the bank and the motor is hitting mud…gigging frogs is now illegal in Louisiana as well.

Good to see you out on the water. Why were you using an open face spinning reel at some times and a bait caster reel at other times; just curious. Had the same conditions with wind and choppy water many times, but felt better than when it was so hot this summer. Looking forward to the hunting season; keep the videos coming.

Looks good, I usually use alligator meat and alligator sausage. I start out browning my meat and set aside, then a roux then sweat my trinity, then add in chicken stock then the tomato paste, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder onion powder few bay leaves, bring to a simmer then dump meat in. Let simmer for 30 minutes, then I add in some raw honey to help sweeten the acidity, taste it and see if I need more heat, if I do I’ll throw in some hot sauce.

On an extra note, I see that the trigger firing pin needs to be sprung down, before inserting the trigger assembly. If it wasn't for the picture in your video, I would have been struggling for a while. Thank you!!

If anyone else had this similar problem? The trigger assembly needs to be compressed when putting back together. If it is disengaged, it will not work. This video saved me a lot of time lol.
@claylatour18994 ай бұрын
This is a great video thank you. Saving for later for when I need to reference it. Just so people know, at 3:03 (reference point), on the bolt, the long handle sticking out to the left that swivels back and forth (I dont know the name of it), if it can come off, it is only held on with a small pin, it has to be put back the right direction or it keeps your slide from going back. When I was cleaning mine the pin fell out and this long swivel handle fell off. I put it back on but it was upside down and it took me a minute to figure out that was the problem. Just saying in case anyone else encounters this problem. Great video my friend.

My Dad is from Mobile AL and mom was born in MS and spent her childhood in NOLA. This is the first dish I learned how to cook from them and it's always been a favorite. We make it with every kind of meat. Turkey wing/leg gravy over rice was regularly on the table. I usually add one or two Serrano peppers to the pot. just cut the top off and throw it in whole. Adds a perfect amount of spicy fresh green pepper heat to the gravy.
