Awesome video. The hand line crabbing videos are my favorite outdoor videos by far but I do like all hunting and fishing videos

I have never seen so many crabs on each line caught like this before on any crabbing video. We don't have blue crabs up here in the mountains of East Tennessee. Thank you for the great video.

Nice catch, and a rare catch at that , especially that many, that big , and that fast ! I know exactly how much fun ya'll had because I caught them like that two times, and at the same place. One of those times I caught my limit in ONLY 40 minutes, and with only 3 lines. I never got to put out more than three, because all three were constantly pulling hard. They were HUGE (#1s) and FAT, and I averaged 5-7 at a time. One line was so heavy that I thought I snagged a big clump of grass...NOPE...it was 12....TWELVE ! A little later, another line had ten. That was over 20 years ago from a dam in Wonder lake, between Montegut and Point Au Chene. Unfortunately, it got destroyed in hurrican Gustave, and replaced with one a lot taller, and not even wide enough to get on. Now, nobody crabs on it anymore. I have not been back since, and still haven't found a place near as good.

That is the best crabbing I have ever seen. I have had a few good days where, between traps, hand-lining, and hunting for them in the shallows at night I have gotten 50, but that is generally over a period of most of the day. I thought it was still a little early in the year for blue crabbing.

Wow! So many crabs. I wish I could have enjoyed them with you guys. Great video.
@meauxjeaux4312 жыл бұрын
You're usung the right net, one with a small mesh. The large mesh is just a huge pain due to the crabs getting tangled up in them. Plus she actually knows how to use it. She submerged the net first, you pulled the crabs OVER it, then she went straight up with the net ! All I see is people waiting until they basically break the surface then swat at the damned things from overhed like they are swatting giant flies. That causes them to lose the crabs and wonder why they can't catch many. Not only that, you know the right speed to pull them in, and not one SLOOOOW inch at a time, like so many people do. GREAT JOB !

I’ve been crabbing all my life running a 1500’ trot line out of a 16’ jon boat here in Maryland and people always ask why I don’t get a bigger boat. I’ve crabbed in my brothers 24’ skiff and 35’ Maycraft, but it’s just more fun in a smaller boat. BUT my favorite type of crabbing is hand lining! Very nice crabs! The biggest blue crab that I’ve ever caught was a 9” crab that I caught in the Kent Narrows, which is on my wall now mounted on a crab basket lid!
