Try egg shells with the gagged parts pointing up,Might deter the slugs.This is second hand ,from a friend,if it does not work out there is nothing lost.

Beautiful gardens. There are some ducks that will eat the slugs or bantam chickens free range will eat slugs

I had my dogs dig carrots for themselves eat my cabbage as well as peas and green beans but never my tomatoes.

How much are you planning on doing, it is a small cottage. Natural materials and traditional skills will only be required in any joinery work and finishes. If you know what you want then you just need a good joiner and plasterer that can work with lime.

Sow in good well draining compost. Pinch out for best results and plant out in sunny position well supported with ground well prepared.

Can I buy willow for basket making here in Ireland. I live in Galway quite near to you moved over 81/2 years ago and love it here 💚

If you get in touch with the Irish basket makers association they will send you a list of suppliers. You can get growers in Somerset to send willow here as well. Good luck.
