Why i moved to the west of Ireland

A tiny insight to why I moved to the west of Ireland and some of the bizarre worries I had. But being alone with responsibilities such as my dogs and setting up a new home without water, electricity etc was scary and exciting as I had prepared well. With time most of the fears disappeared and then you realise life just goes on where ever you are or who ever you are. I’ve always been a great believer in pushing your limitations and then seeing exactly what you can achieve. Take care.

It takes courage to step off into space and know that the angels will catch you before you hit bottom. Good for you! 8 years ago my husband and I decided to change our lives - we left NYC and moved into a derelict school house in western Ireland. I was 60…. We’ve never looked back. This life is not for everyone - but it belongs to us, and is as we have made it. It’s great to see you, and I will certainly follow along as you continue your own road. I was born in Sligo and moved to London aged 10 in 1989 and i'm married here now. I've always had a hook in me trying to pull me back there. Best wishes living there. It's the edge of the world there. Something about that makes the west coast so special.

I bought my house also in Mayo because I felt sorry for it 😄 it had been to auction 5 times with no no bids . Best thing i ever did . love it here felt like coming home from the first day here camping out in the one habitable room. Not to bad for me as only moved from co Armagh . So was able to move in gradually .

Just go in and have a chat to your local vet when you get here. Some only offer certain services so you need to make sure your covered for emergencies or at least know where to go. March is a good time to move here. Best of luck

Good on ya, it will take a while to get used to the rugged windy rainy wildness of the west of Ireland, it's much wilder than where you were down south in England. Unfortunately Ireland is getting the frog boiled alive, just like every other country on Earth, here in the US, its beyond bad and on the way to getting much worse. Our occult central controllers, are pushing inflation way up and everything is costly, on the way to a transition from dead $ fiat to centralised CBDC trap. Looks like they allowed Brexit as a smoke screen to explain the decline of the UK economy/property crash, they will blame 2020/BREXIT/allied US foreign policy, for the carnage coming over the next 5/10 years. The EU is just behind, but appears that whilst it will be very badly hit, not quite as bad as UK, so you did well to get out when you did. It doesn't matter when the euro value of your farmstead drops, it's yours/your livelihood, keep costs down, by planting/farming as much as you can. God bless and Good luck.

@Ciaradexy It is great that people are buying these houses in the west of Ireland and fixing them up. The people in the west are very happy to see new people moving in. Especially hard working people like this lady.😊
