That is horrible. 100 miles only on a full charge? I think I'll stick to good old petrol and get my 350 miles on the full tank

Hi Carlos, which lens work better for AF in Komodo? Which one do you recommend? Thanks!

EF L lenses work best, a bit slower than RF glass but more accurate mapping making them more reliable. Also primes work better than zooms.

I have a Canon EOS R8 and, with a small frame attached, can serve nicely as a top-mounted second cam. Not too heavy, can be fitted with a dummy battery adapter to run on V-Lock power, and can be all manual or completely auto. Takes Canon RF, and with an adapter Canon EF lenses including Canon Cinema lenses. Uses cheap memory cards and produces very, very pleasing video.

Did you have to compensate for the angle at all? I think the standard DJI lidar mount has a very subtle downward tilt to line it up with the center of the frame?

LUMIX S5ii, you can shoot 4k and 6k if you want to crop. It has a beautiful image and has the best image stabilization. Autofocus is good enough, not on par with So y or Canon, but it has way more features.

Best small camera for social media purposes would be the Samsung Galaxy S23 or S24 Ultra. Has the best built in manual mode giving you full control without downloading an app like the Black Magic app for iPhone. Quick easy on the road app to edit and color grade is Capcut.

Well, I’m not buying lenses that need significant correction in post. That said, I don’t care is other people do and there is plenty of choice for lenses that I might want. Confused: why should anyone care if Canon makes lenses of limited utility on other bodies - just don’t buy them.

Very cool with your LUTs pack from the Full Frame Sony lineup. I own a Sony FX30 and wanted to get those LUTs. Are your LUTs compatible to Sony FX30 as well?

There is a good probability but I have never tested these LUTs with the FX30 so I can't say yes for sure.

I was counting on the wireless transmitter that also provides phantom power so I can use my shotgun mics without running a cord...but, that won't be a thing for THEOS so I don't use it and am back on my AVX.

ETTR has a place when photographing moderate and low Dynamic Range (DR) scenes, especially at higher ISOs. In high-DR scenes ETTR can cause highlight clipping, so test your camera first to see how recoverable the highlights are in YOUR camera(s) beforehand.

How do you text it for c70 ? How do you test it for red Komodo?
@ziggggy53ify
@ziggggy53ify Ай бұрын
Do a GOOGLE search for "highlight recovery" and the name of your video processing software. Acquaint yourself with the process your software uses to do highlight recovery. Then go out and purposely expose scenes normally plus adding more and more overexposure in small increments with your Canon C70 and Red Kommodo. Use your video processing software against the test footage you just acquired using the highlight recovery process you just learned and discover how malleable and recoverable your files are to that sort of post-production routine. Verify your results both visually on your production video monitors and using the wave-form and RGB-parade monitors in your video processing software.

@@creativegreatsvisuals Resolve has the capability to handle most video processing tasks. I'm not at all familiar with Apple hardware. Hopefully someone here can answer that question or find an Apple specific forum and ask the question there. (I suspect you're kidding me? 😉)

Hey Carlos, thank you for the video - super informative. Do you have to black shade on Komodo-X? I noticed this video is 3 years old and you're just talking about the standard Komodo. Also, you mentioned in the video that you should always power down the camera when swinging a lens? Did I hear that correctly?

Depends on the codec, Clog2/3 do not need to be overexposed, but slog3 is always ETTR by at least 1.7

It's all about the details. 1) If the dynamic range of scene is so big that you already clip the highlights at proper exposure than there is no room for "ETTR" so basically many times it's not even possible to do. 2) cameras have to types of dynamic range- a) the ev range of the sensor and b) latitude is how far off the ideal exposure you can be and still get a useful image. Camera can have very big sensor dynamic range but behave poorly when comes to latitude (surprise) so usability of ETTR is also camera specific topic 3) saturation and values of color - we need to keep in mind that target color science depends on proper target exposure so being off those target exposures mostly affects skin tone color rendering to which human eye and brain is very picky 4)not always ETTR will give you cleaner shadows this is also camera specific topic So in my opinion taking all of those under consideration, also my experience and gear I use and the work type I do I don't use ETTR as I find it to inconsistent in color especially skin tones. Whats the point to ETTR one shot for one scene and than need to expose normally cuz another scene requires me to protect highlights which ends up with two shoots from same camera which do not match in skin tones? Unnecessarily additional work When I sometimes used it is for daylight landscapes shoots.
