Something pointed out to me, and I like to share this knowledge. Compare how Kiana, and by extension, we the viewer/player, see Himeko after her death. In CH XI-EX, we don't see her face. We see her profile at most. It's the view of someone who thinks themselves unworthy of remembering the person. In Meteoric Salvation, Kiana's moved past that self hatred at least a little, and she see Himeko, once again in profile, larger than life... but she sees a smile, a reassurance. That gives her the strength to tap into the Void powers and launch that bomb out of the atmosphere and save Arc City. Finally, the last time we see Himeko, during the Beam Clash at the end of Everlasting Flames... she's smaller, Kiana has to look /back/ a little bit to see her mentor, her friend... and she smiles, full face on, before burning away. This sequence of similar progression shots, show how Kiana finally takes up the mantle Himeo left behind, picking it up and going even further with it... all that, without a word of dialogue bringing attention to it.

To stand under the yoke of fate and concentrate all the pain experienced in a blow that crushes enemies in order to carry the legacy of loved ones through the centuries. I believe in the supremacy of Thunder.
