I think you should get a third crash cymbal that Tre has in his kit between the China/trash smash and the second crash, then the set will be completed.

A crash ride!! I would love one but they are expensive af 😂 I also love crash rides cuz they are so versatile and have a different sound! What’s your favorite crash? Mine is probably the China in terms of the unique sound then the crash ride!

That’s hard to say what my favorite crashes, but if I were to have some in my set, it would probably range from 17”-22”, I would have K Custom Hybrids, A Customs, K Darks, even A Zildjians or Z Customs/Z3s

Wow! That’s better than how I play Dilemma. You did a really fantastic job, and I enjoyed all the action within the playing. On another note could you possibly teach how to play the fast hi-hats, just like Tré Cool? I sometimes have a struggle following along and a little insight could help. Thanks man 😄❤

Hi! Thank you for your comment. Tre cool is a beast and out of all the punk rock drummers he plays 8th notes the most, fastest and longest haha Try having a looser grip on the right hand and use wrist more than your forearm. You don’t want to use fingers too much in punk cuz you lose power when using your fingers. So If ur struggling to keep up with the speed you can lessen the distance in which your stick hits the hi hat and play a little softer on the hi hat. In terms of drum set dynamics you want to hit the snare and kick the hardest and the hi hat and cymbals a little softer so it’s good to not hit the hi hat too hard! Try playing the beat slower to a metronome for 30 minutes straight then slowly speed up when you mastered it. In terms of pad exercises I recommend RRRR LLLL as it simulates what you’ll be doing on the hi hat on the drum set! I’m actually gonna make a video on this exact topic so make sure to check it out 🥁

If you listen to the studio version it sounds like there are accents on the ride next time you listen to it you’ll hear it 🥁However when playing live he just plays the bell

I miss you too!! Thanks a lot for your kind words!! I've been focusing on improving my drum skill I've been practicing daily and better, and even got a few drum lessons from a pro drummer so now I can play Green day songs even better! Funny enough I'm going to be releasing a new video in a few days and also I'm gonna cover of one of the best Green day songs ever!! I'll keep it a mystery for now haha but its so good!! In 2024 I'm definitely gonna ramp up and make more videos! Btw if you have any requests for covers let me know 🌆
