The part where you exposed the faced down Queen of heart was not convinced because YOU CUT (or said yourself what if 1 card less, that what you SAID, the spectator didn't say that) YOU said 1 card less yourself to expose the faced down queen, they didn't said.

Here’s an idea for the final reveal: Underneath your close up mat, have a large, oversized duplicate of the forced card. This completely nails the fact that you could not have done any sneaky business of secretly flipping the card over in the deck (or whatever they may conclude later).

Such an easy explanation to this one but it's not really anything anyone is going to expect or think of as there's just too much going on for their brains to conceive at that point in time. Genius!

@MarkBowenPiano2 сағат бұрын
@ Yep I really like this one as it's so simple to do yet packs such a good punch. And to be able to do it more than once and change the prediction is absolutely killer as it then makes their brains become even more frazzled!! 😂 I did this for my 11 year old son and he's seriously bright and I thought I'd let the cat out of the bag as he's a maths wizard and the first thing he said when shuffling the cards is "It looks like there's a lot more red cards here!" Now he is absolutely top of the class for maths and can perform lightning fast calculations that leave me honestly speechless but I thought this may have been some sort of Rain Man type of thing so had to ask him about it because I was thinking if someone does have that sort of power then they probably wouldn't tell anyone about it because they'd just think that's normal and everyone does it. Turns out he's not a Rain Man (still amazing at maths though) it was because I'd been impressing myself with the trick all night I'd not shuffled them well enough before showing him and so there were a fair few of the reds clumped together at the start of the deck! 😂 What a numpty I am!! 😂 That said he didn't get what was going on and especially when I did it the second time which totally floored him. I used the card box to have the four black cards in it and put the cards away in the box and then said "Shall I do it one more time?" He wanted to do it again as he said but we'll just get the same thing happen again though won't we? Nope! That definitely helped floor him 😂

Awesome set! I might would even add to know what position your reveal card is in at the that way you have a chance of adding in an extra bit of magic if they happen to choose a number that adds to 13 and your card is 13 cards down then it’ll hit even harder.

What's crazy interesting about this is I saw the reversal with my own eyes, but by the time you actually revealed the Queen I had already forgotten about it and didn't realize it was a force. That said, I thought of another way to do the delivery... When you reveal the first Queen of Hearts you could leave the other cards still flipped face up and say "See, if you would have cut even one card further the trick wouldn't have worked" and then flip the entire counted packet to show the Queen to verify that. (Giving the top deck to the spectator to count might be a bit risky, too, since they could spill the cards or otherwise reveal them. Instead you could have them participate themselves at a part where they can't mess anything up.) After you reveal the Queen yourself you could then turn over the other cards as you say, "In fact, I had a feeling you were going to cut right at this Queen of Hearts before the trick even started. Why don't you open up that deck under the glass and fan it out yourself and confirm that there's one card flipped over?" This part might need to be done by someone familiar enough with handling a deck of cards, too, though there's less for them to mess up compared to the counting part of the process.
@MattMcGurkКүн бұрын
I think reveals are always best handled by you (the performer) as it makes for a smoother well timed reveal at the end. That’s the big moment and we don’t want it to be spoiled by the spec dropping the cards all over the floor do we! 😂 Have you seen the original version of this trick?
@172ngan83 сағат бұрын
"WHAT if you cut one card less," this part we need a setup SPECTATOR to say, like in pretending to bring that up, that would be more smooth in revealing
@GravitoRaizeСағат бұрын
@@MattMcGurk No I haven't seen the original trick, maybe I should. :D And yeah, fair enough, you're definitely right about delivery and timing. I guess I've never done any professional work or work in front of large groups, so I love tricks that involve untouched decks or stacks of cards to use in small groups with my family and friends (that all play card games anyway) so I always use tricks that end with them opening up untouched decks that I've already preassembled for that kind of magical "how in the hell?" look they give me. I'm definitely planning to do this one and see what works. My favorite trick to do is to have a preset deck of red or blue cards with just one card of another color that are never touched. I always have the forced card be a different color in the untouched preset deck for the reveal. I agree with you that it doesn't matter that it gives away that it's a force, as it's just such a powerful ending for most non-magicians. That all said, one of my favorite tricks is one I made myself with a card control that ends with the original deck and original card the spectator chose (that I forced on them) being a different color too, which I do with a few simple culls and a triple lift, and proceeding with them searching the untouched deck before finally going back to the original deck and finding the card they originally picked has seemingly changed its card backing somehow. I got pretty good at doing a triple lift for another trick and realized it could be used to do some powerful effects that even magicians won't necessarily spot. Similar to how Dai Vernon's simple use of a double backer revolutionized his ACR, a triple lift can (sort of) do the same thing and catch even a magician (or someone familiar with a few card tricks and forces) off guard.

I like it. But I see one possible problem: If the spectator is quick with their ‘stop’, then your first 2 piles might be small. The third pile is bigger, with the chance that they cut the third pack BELOW your card setup. So you end up in the random card range. Then the ‘count’ will go wrong, because you might end up with a random low number, while having a lot of cards in your hand. Am I correct? Greetings from Holland
@MattMcGurk2 күн бұрын
Hi from the UK! 🇬🇧 I mean it’s possible, but you can control the pile with the shuffle, shuffling more or less cards and watching for them they are going to say stop. I’ve never had a problem with this, so I wouldn’t let it out you off. Where in Holland are you from buddy?
