For the ppl that says it doesn’t work it is because when you put the cards in the pile where “The queen is hunting” you have to always start the first card on the same side. For example: if the first time you put the cards down and you start on the right you have to put on the right for all the next times. Hope this Helps❤

It's a very nice baffling trick. Thank you! Because of all the dealing, I think it needs an engaging story throughout the trick. For example, In line with Matt's idea that the queen is "hunting the card," I might be inclined to embellish a bit more and say something like, "In a deck of cards, there are criminals, just like in society at large." Then maybe use a jack and introduce him as "the world famous detective, Jack Diamond." The card they select could be a "notorious criminal," hiding and "on the run in the underworld." Maybe explain, as the cards are being dealt and placed aside, that Jack tirelessly pursues every lead, narrowing down and systematically eliminating suspects, until he finally tracks down the fugitive and brings him to justice.

The trick relies on the fact that for any size deck of cards n, the number of cards between two cards you want to end up in the same pile after sequentially dealing into two piles is (n / 2) - 1. So, you can try this on a deck of size 8 for example, where the number of cards between two cards you want to end up in the same deck should be 3- place one card at position 1 and another at position 5 for example.

For anyone saying it doesn’t work, here is a likely fix. I also had it not work several times. Then I realized I was cutting the piles down, rather than across. Form two piles of 15, one above the other. Then cut each deck over, like half of each pile to their right. At first, I had two piles of 15, then cut about half the stack down. Doing this ruins the whole “two rows” aspect.

@sirMeldonАй бұрын
Not sure why, but at 1:44 when you should put the queen on top of "the pile that is on its own", could it be that you put it on top of the pile _next to_ the one containing their chosen card, i.e. in the same row? Then it will (most likely) not work. The queen should be put onto the remaining pile in the _other_ row.

The key is to make sure the queen and the other card are placed on top of the piles in such a way that both the piles of 15 cards are "reunited" regardless of where they have been cut by the spectator. Then there will always be 15 cards in between, or we can say that the spectator's card is the 16th from the queen (either before or after, depending on the order of the piles). As every other card is removed, in the next step they will end up in the same pile with the spectator's card now being the 8th from the queen, thereafter the 4th, then 2nd and finally the only one remaining. (The reason for starting with 15 cards in each of the two piles is so that the total number of cards is 32, which is a power of two.)
