I'll keep repeating how enthusiastic and brilliantly you present your tricks. You are just a pleasure to watch everytime I get a notification about something new. Common people spread the news, I think 28k subscribers should be doubled. All your grandparents out there my generation, theres are tricks you can impress the grandkids with, I know I have. My grandchildren first thing they ask is Grandpa you have any new tricks for us, its infectious and the kids want to learn to impress their friends.

Talk about a coincidence but today I literally just stumbled upon this effect in one of my pdf books called 52 Amazing card tricks written by Rufus Steele and your video just happens to be the first one I play on KZbin when I opened it up.. Crazy or what!!!!! Love this trick ❤

Another option for those scared of the possibility of them picking the top or bottom of the stack: Instead of spreading, ask them to cut the little stack and pull a card out for themselves. Now they're practically guaranteed to pick something from the middle

Does anyone know how to deal with situations where when asking people to cut they would take say 9 cards from the first cut? This would ruin this particular trick and can easily happen seeing as you need to keep almost a quarter of the deck on top at all times and the pack has to be cut into threes.

The "trick" is that all the manipulation of the first two piles was just setting up the third pile. When the third pile is counted out, it just comes down to the set-up cards. Very neat. Thanks for the video.

In the first trick what is the value of the chosen card if it's a face card or ace
@MattMcGurk
@MattMcGurk Ай бұрын
It should never be an ace, as that isn’t one of the force cards. It will either be a 5, 9 or King (hence the name of the trick) king is 13. Hope this helps. 👍

This is such a cool trick. You could probably use any 3 sets of cards. I would probably use Jacks or tens just in case they cut the pile a little short on the first dealing, but that is just me. But awesome tutorial Matt.

What if they choose a king and one of the piles does not have enough cards to count off 13 cards and have one for the other two piles?
@MattMcGurk
@MattMcGurk Ай бұрын
Just guide the spectator to cut the piles roughly into 1/3rds. Through practice you can tell if enough cards have been cut. As long as it’s over 15 you’re good.

It was funny that the first time I tried it, the first pile had 14 cards. I mostly do sleight of hand, but this is strong enough to have set up for an opener. @@MattMcGurk

@@MattMcGurk @MattMcGurk hey dude. Sorry it's just my insecurities with getting caught, the trick is itself is great and well taught as always. For example, I would be nervous that the K (or other high value) would be selected and there won't be enough cards in any of the piles to cover the value of the card. When a card is asked to be selected from the fanned out 3rd pile I personally will always have that smart arse who will want to select a card that isn't being directed at them and as the setup cards take up most of that fan, I think the 99.9% comment is a bit of stretch. But you did say if it doesn't work then try another trick so I will take the hint and bugger off! Not from your channel, just from here 😂👍
