HI. is it possible to do the same insert photo for diamond but in octane?

i just can't understand why would anyone use a polygon modeling software like blender to model jewelry , where booleans are very hard to get clean with all the topology obstacles not to mention how hard is getting the bevels right on a complex model , i mean any CAD software like Fusion , Solidworks , Rhino . Matrixgold would be like 100x faster and easier , especially for a professional like you , if you choose blender because of the price , Rhino is 995$ only and much cheaper than other paid options , i mean if you only going for rendering and visualizing jewelry blender might be ok , but for manufacturing i don't think blender is the way to go , but even with that you will have a hard time getting those round edges with bevels for a clean render

@@mohameddawood1720 You are absolutely right. Thank you for sharing your deep knowledge and wisdom.

Booleans aren't "very hard to get clean topology with" in Blender. Also, you don't need the cleanest topology for 3d printing and casting because whatever minor hiccup you find in your topology won't likely be seen and/or will be buffed out in the polishing process. Getting bevels correct isn't hard either. I don't think you have given Blender a good chance...

@@JustForNowStudios And so much more could be said... That guy just got on the bike, fell down and gave up biking blaming the bike... Or even never tried to get up himself on the bike in the first place.
@mohameddawood172015 сағат бұрын
@@JustForNowStudios well obviously you need quad topology if you are working sith subd , and especially with jewelry industry , there are lots of organic shapes that requires working with subd , maybe blender is fine for simple rings and shapes , but once you get to the organic stuff , subd is a must and therefore you can't escape clean topology all the time , again , blender is fine for rendering and teaching , but i would choose solidworks/rhino 110% of the time above any poly modeling software

Have you tried to disable filter glossy in cycles and run on CPU + path guiding, it is also possible to get metal caustics but compared to LuxCore they are very very noisy

You don't use luxcore anymore?
@RohrbachJewelryDesign12 күн бұрын
I have Luxcore 2.8 installed running in Blender 3.6... When I need the highest render quality I always use Luxcore. You want a new tutorial?
@punmije10 күн бұрын
@@RohrbachJewelryDesign oh cool. You can do tutorial or whatever you feel like :) i’m currently experimenting with old LuxRender and Blender 2.78. I am amazed with the quality but its a little too buggy and slow. But gem dispersion looks quite a bit better then in new LuxCore (its because old Lux was spectral renderer that handles light a little bit differently)

Thanks. When you are the designer, modeler and jeweler, resizing is planned right from the start. Let's call it "optimized modeling strategies"

Hello, as always enjoy your work! Always something new to learn watching your tutorials and a different approach. What caught my interest was you using ennis exr for your scene lighting. For the life of me I could not find any links on the internet to download or any explanation as to why it would be beneficial to use it as opposed to traditional HDRIs. I would appreciate your input on the matter. True fan, keep up the good work!
@RohrbachJewelryDesignАй бұрын
Thanks. Keep up the good comments! For the EXR, I've just searched again to check google "ennis.exr" around the 4th result should be USC Institute for Creative Technologies page and scroll down. The 3rd image is the Ennis-Brown house. The EXR format has more features than HDR, like alpha transparency, though most people are not aware and colorspace is harder to work with. EXR is absolutely necessary to make compositions in animations though

Great tutorial!! Is there any reason to use blender 3.6 and not the blender 4.1?
@RohrbachJewelryDesignАй бұрын
Thanks. Blender 4.1 is all geometry node oriented, which is great. But depending the project, Blender 3.6 is more optimized.
