Is Kislux a brand? I see a couple other comments mentioning it 😇 But I agree, luxury items are a status symbol. It's really interesting to see how dupes, like the Wirkin, have affected that luxury brand landscape. I thought about having getting a Wirkin to review on my channel haha 🤣

Congrats on another sponsorship!!! Washi Tape Shop has so many amazing things!!! I’ve never seen washi like this. Like beautiful little painting stickers! I love how they’ve branched out from “regular 15mm washi” this is wayyyy too tempting!!! I love the mini snippets because they are already nicely cut, so it’s not just randomly sticking straight washi in places. Awww, I love that you used my beautiful City by the Bay…miss you, SF, soooo much!!! We didn’t want to leave! What journal are you using for this (the elephant is familiar but I forget what company makes it?) Someone on Reddit asked the question: Can you think of another world for “Brain Dump” cause it bothered her (I kind of get it as there are people who do recipe videos and call something a “Dump Cake” or refer to “dumping in all the ingredients” and ‘dump’, in my experience, is slang for something we all do that you don’t want to associate with food, iykwim! Anyway, one of the ideas was “Playground for the Mind” as a different title for the page. I loved that and thought that it inspired creativity, and the ideas that you put down were things that could be really random, be the same concept, but the visual of a wonderful playground and the creativity we had as children just is, what I thought was a great idea for that title. (You use what you like!) I’m not a fan of “Goals” and “Gratitude” as the goals feels intimidating and pressure filled, and ‘gratitude’ (again, in my personal experience) creates feelings of guilt. I switched any thing related to “goals” as “ideas for the future” and “gratitude” to “Today’s Positives” and added “Room for Improvement” (just cause I wanted to.) Neither sound intimidating or criticizing or pressure filled or guilt inducing. Rambling on…but it’s weird the things that have become sort of standard planner items can be named in such a way that it creates anxiety or whatever…just mentioning that if they do for you…think, if you want something similar, but “Goals for This Year” sounds intimidating, you can just rename it to something that doesn’t, and still accomplish the same list…if you want to even have something like that. If you don’t, and it’s a pre-printed page, cover it up with some of that awesome Washi Tape Shop stickers and make it something completely different. Beautiful spread, Lilla!!! (Unfortunately for US people…Canada for some reason is on the naughty list, so who knows how much anything from Canada is going to cost now. Get your Washi Tape Shop stuff before it kicks in!) Lilla, what are some other well known stationery makers in Canada for us US people to grab quickly (Ferris Wheel Press is one, and Coffee Monsters Co., otherwise, I can’t think off the top of my head of others…)

Thank you!! 🥰 It wasn't my intention for the sponsorships to come out back-to-back (I like to have them spaced out for my subscribers), but my previous one only got approved recently. All is to say, this won't be a regular occurrence; I'm thinking about doing a community post on this actually lol. But yes, their washi tapes are absolutely beautiful, and can be adapted for any journal spread. I completely agree with you about the 15mm, I am so glad there are other alternatives now! The journal I'm using is the Dingbats dot-grid notebook in the A6 size 😇 Haha yes, brain dump does bring to mind another dump... 💩 I like how short the title is, but another good alternative could be something like "extra thoughts" or "mind sweep" 😆 Ouu yes let me think! Hubman and Chubgirl is another Canadian stationery brand -- their stuff is so cute, I've reviewed it in the past! Hemlock & Oak is also Canadian I think, but I haven't tried anything from them before 🤩
@mollymollie6048Күн бұрын
@ Sorry I didn’t edit the previous post for it to make sense…it was a bit of a “brain 💩 “ 😝. I don’t have a problem with sponsorships, if it’s not every single video that you do…which they aren’t. I think it’s nice that brands are recognizing you as someone who presents well and has a good channel. I don’t see you as the type of person who would take a sponsorship where you couldn’t say anything that you wished were different about some of the items, or how something didn’t quite work for you but could work for others? Idk. I have a friend with a craft channel and she gets a lot of stuff and I know how that works behind the scenes a bit and that it can be a bit of a challenge. I would do the community post about it because I’m just one person, and others may have strong feelings for very good reasons against sponsorships at all or feeling like every video is a commercial (some channels are like that…but, you get to see the product in detail…I don’t have really strong feelings either way, I’m happy for you that you’ve built a great channel and are being recognized.) Dingbats! Yes!! Now I remember. I love “Mind Sweep”…it gives the feeling of clearing out the extraneous or forgotten, or random creative or silly thoughts that are just muddling up your brain, and can be put on the page and left there. How is your paper search going? I keep getting distracted and not setting up my swatch book and paper testing!! Gahhh!!

I went with a hobonichi cousin avec this year. It's the first time I'm using the Hobonichi in this format and size, but I chose it because I really liked it--the look and the sections. The funny thing is that I am doing weather tracking in my hobonichi and the way that you explained the Jibun Techo, made me wish that I had gotten that one, just so I can have the daily weather tracking 😅. It's the second time I'm hearing of it, and when I first encountered, it looked a bit daunting, but now with your explanation it's making me re-think things. It's all fine though, but I'm curious about the Jibun Techo's life book and how that could be filled out/used across the years( for example, I feel like the 100 wishlist wouldn't last you until you're 99). Do you know if they sell some of these notebooks alone just to try them? And if you get one of the Jibun Techos, do they always come with these notebooks every time, or can you pick and choose them so that you can change them up in the covers? Maybe next year I might consider it...

So glad my explanation of the system was helpful! To answer your questions: yes, they do sell both the Idea booklet and the Life booklet separately! Congrats on the Kokuyo sponsorship!!! You know, I used to think that the Jibun Techo was just wayyyyy too overwhelming for me. However, with how I’m planning between two different planners this year…one is all business and carries in my purse, the other is more of a journal and creative space…this could really work for me, particularly the scheduling book and the plain notebook for on the run jotting down! I love that the pencil board works as a stabilizer for the book, and has an elastic closure band (no closure band makes me nuts!!!) So…while the first book isn’t something I need…or probably would use. That 24 hour schedule and the spots for everything I’d want to note, as well as how the index is set up is really appealing!!! Hmmm 🧐 I loved the colored pencils as a non artist…it does some nice shading for you, and could look really nice in a spread to make a few decorations like easy flowers or something, and look a little more…skilled…plus, they aren’t going to smear anything. I appreciate that both the pencil and the highlighters come in a reusable case (so much plastic waste) and really, the Techo doesn’t require you to buy a clear cover, or a decorative cover in order to keep it from falling apart over the year. (Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they also have a version “Business” that has fewer colors used, more greyscale? But…they use pretty colors, too, which are soft and not visually jarring. Kokuyo Campus notebooks are so underrated. Even as a righty I love those soft rings. I have done a pen test (actually pen color guide…like every color of every pen I had) and nothing bled through (no fountain pens at the time, and no stamps except some Frixion stamps.) The highlighters have gorgeous colors (do not need more already have every Mildliner…) Soooo tempting!!! I love the red shade, and I love that none of them go harsh, they’re all warm and soothing to the eye. I can’t believe I would actually consider the Jibun Techo!! 🤣 I was on my “eeek! Too much!!!” mental list, but…I’m rethinking that… The scissors are great (I have a pair like that, only with the cap, and you’re right, the cap is annoying to keep track of! Two other great products (one on my wishlist, one I just got for my A5) are: Kokuyo Haco-Biz Bag in Bag Tool Pen Stand. It’s on my wishlist, about $22 USD on Amazon. It looks very similar to the larger size of that pricey large desk/portable storage bag/stand that Hobonichi was selling for 3x the price this year. The other is one just received: Kokuyo Systemic. It’s a trifold A5 notebook/planner holder, with a sturdy but soft feeling cover. I can easily put my Sterling Ink A5 Common Planner (same size as Hobo Cousin) plus another notebook (either top bound or side bound into the other side. It has an elastic vertical closure, and no “bumps” that get it your way writing. It has a pen loop and some places to store cards, sticker pages, washi samples, post-its, etc. It runs…hold your breath… $17-22 USD on Amazon. I got dark blue. My only wish is that it came in more colors (same with the Haco-Biz, but I like dark blue, so I’m good.) Gray/Green, Navy and Black are the only colors of both that I’ve seen. Very well designed, thought out, inexpensive and very usable. I love Kokuyo! (P.S., I’ve finally got all of my papers/notebooks for the pen testing to begin! I’ll put my findings on your…”My Hobo Weeks Is A Feathering and Bleeding Nightmare” video. Thanks, Lilla!

Thank you! Initially, I was the same way; I found the Jibun Techo to be overwhelming and never thought it would work for me. Last year, I purchased one on a whim and honestly, it is such an intuitive layout -- even for someone who prefers a horizonal weekly like myself! I'm planning on doing a planner lineup, and showing exactly how I've been using it. Speaking of planner lineup, I literally purchased the A5 systemic to go with my Jibun Techo, so that is such a coincidence that you mentioned it as well!! 🤣 You are correct, they do have a Biz version which is greyscale 🥰
@mollymollie60486 күн бұрын
@ On a whim (I’m NOT buying another planner this year!!!) I went searching for them. The new kits are nearly sold out and are running $48-60 on eBay, which I have no idea what the original selling price is, lol. That’s so funny that you got the Systemic!!! I was searching and searching for a planner cover for my A5 that I could write in without having to take things out, deal with a zipper gouging me (I have a zipper one) or a big pouch on the front making bumps to write over. The thing is amazing…shhh…don’t let everyone know or they’ll charge $100 for it!! I did look at the greyscale Biz…but, the colors are prettier in the regular one 😁 Also, those highlighter are only $8!!!!! That’s a bargain!! (I didn’t look for the pencils so no idea on that.) Definitely ask them if you can show off the Hako-Biz, that thing is cool…really, really cool. Oh! If you like the Campus, but want a little notebook upgrade, the Soofa is fantastic! I love the paper ( a little ‘slicker’ feeling than the Campus) and it has a flexible plastic cover, smooshy rings, and an elastic band and place to clip a pen. Great notebook to tote around for whatever. Comes in a bunch of pretty colors 😁 Looking forward to the planner line up!!!

Okay…sorry for the millionth post on this video: I saw a video where someone had a “good” notebook and her fountain pens feathered and bled (may have been the Moleskine.) She was wandering through her Barnes & Noble and found Logical Air notebooks (B5, 30 sheets, $7 US.) She also said she noticed they had really upped their stationery game! Since I live in a big city, that is still a stationery desert, I went online to B&N and discovered they also sell fountain pens. (The Logical Air notebooks are available in a few different sizes and the paper is Japanese by Nakabayashi.) They sell: Pilot Kakuno and Metropolitan, Kaweco Perkeo, and a 2 set of Ooly Splendid fountain pens (comes with cartridges.) All at similar to Amazon prices. Sbrebrown gave the Ooly Splendid a really good review…this two set of pens with 4 cartridges is $8! They also come in a slightly different pen in 4 packs (all F, black ink, 4 different colored pens) for $12, and a pack of 8 different colored pens each with a matching color ink for $20! I was stunned!!! I’ve never heard of these, but sbrebrown is a good reviewer, and it has a nice rubberized round grip, he noted it was very comfortable and wrote smoothly. So, you can be browsing B&N with your friend, wander toward the new and improved stationery department and penable them right then and there with a nice pen and fountain pen friendly notebook for $20. Not bad!! (Going by B&N tomorrow…haven’t been there in years…)
