That looks so easy on the bench, nowhere near that easy on the car.

The GTO and Fbody t56 faceplates are different - that’s why there are two different bellhousings - the magnum F and original fbody t56 are rotated more than the regular magnum. So my question is which QuickTime bellhousing matches the fbody/magnum F trans? I got a feeling these QuickTime bellhousings are designed for the magnum/GTO not the Fbody/magnum F Am I wrong?
@DansyoungАй бұрын
My understanding is that RM-8019 has better ground clearance but is NOT sfi certified) than the RM-8020 but they are the same application. Several online dealers have the gto and magnum bells listed as the same part number.
@jasonlouis5498Ай бұрын
@@Dansyoung yeah this is confusing cause I originally got the wrong GM bellhousing when I bought my magnum F - the trans was rotated to the right about 10 degrees. Apparently I bought the GTO version, not the fbody version. If you run into issues, be aware the magnum F uses a different bellhousing than the regular magnum.
@DansyoungАй бұрын
@@jasonlouis5498 The only difference between the magnum and the magnum f is the tail housing. Grannas racing has a video with a magnum, magnum f, magnum xl and tr6060 lined up and discusses the differences.
@jasonlouis5498Ай бұрын
@@Dansyoung I watched the whole video earlier today - nowhere is the difference in described addressed. Do some digging, they are not the same.
@DansyoungАй бұрын
@@jasonlouis5498You’re thinking the face plate is different on the magnum f, so the RM8020 won’t bolt on properly? What part number are you thinking is the correct one? On ticks website they have an article on this as well stating that the housing for the GTO is nearly identical to the Fbody with the exception of the starter pocket.

Im doing a fully custom build/swap with a 2011-17 mustang bearing and a earlier windsor 5.0 type clutch with a sn95 t5 modified with an f body t5 bearing retainer/TO bearing mount. Would this .200" be a good number to shoot for still?

Gotta love tick and their products still got my t56 stage 2 build years ago beat the hell out of it and its still going. But we moved to a hydro electric system controlled by fuel tech., shifts like butter at 8500 lsx on the gas with a twin act clutch. Down side is the enguagment is on or off and its violent. We are working on a controller to help pressure engugment. put in mind of a wastegate lol

Maybe talk to the owner/developer of "bangshift billy" as he runs an electric solenoid on the clutch hydraulics which can be dialed in for time and depth. It's a clutch slipper. You might be able to adapt it to your purposes.

I’m building a swap car (LS3/T56 magnum F), I’m using a QuickTime RM-8020 bellhousing. My question is what starter is recommended? I’ve heard there is fitment issues with a 2015 Camaro SS starter (grinding required?), possibly a 98-02 Camaro starter for a ls1? Or a mini torque starter?

Be careful with the bellhousings. There are two different ones. See my other comment.

Just did the install on my 02 z28 with the trans already out, I’m not sure if it’s the same with it in. A few things that helped me were removing the reservoir and its hose from the master so I could slide it under the steering rack easier and I pulled the whole thing out from under the car instead of from the engine bay. I did not need to remove anything to get it out. Just remove the reservoir, detach the line on the trans, then the 2 nuts and on the u bolt to remove the master
