I think she wanted to be the one who killed him, as closure, a final act of autonomy that he took from her. But it also was an act of mercy which made her the better person, she didn’t want to see him suffer because she knew how that felt. And in the end she pitied him,

I love these so much. The posts grieve me, however, they are beautiful. However, they give false hope, as they continue to confess that they have no personal relationship. It’s a kick in the tummy.

I think they both care deeply for each other. I’m sure they both have been tempted and at some point wanted to make a move, but……. If you listen to Catriona in a lot of her interviews this was her first big role and this was during a complete career change at 30. I can understand why she wouldn’t try to jeopardize something she’s worked so hard for. Probably one of the main reasons they had a long walk to talk about how they were going to work together and have each others back going forward. It’s very obvious that Sam is smitten and you can see in her eyes that she adores him, but they both live separate lives apart from the show, and Catriona is now a very proud and defensive wife and mother (as she should be) that has made it clear where she stands. I wish the small group of obsessive fans that keep trying to cause confusion and disruption in these twos lives would learn to find lives of their own. In what world does anyone have the right to tell these people who they should be with? Maybe you should get help for the obsessive compulsive disorder that you have that keeps you looking and sounding like complete fools and psychopaths!!! I’ll never understand why some fans do this. It’s weird, completely out of line, and overstepping boundaries on so many levels.

When he lit that candle, Jamie had lost his wife and all 3 of their children together, one by death, one by permanent separation, and one left at Lallybroch in secret to keep him safe. Jamie could never speak of his and Claire’s children to anyone after Culloden, especially not talking about Fergus as their only living child of that time since he would have been in danger by association. It’s why it was so important that Fergus did not officially receive his Fraser name until he was an adult and it was safe since Jamie wasn’t being hunted as a traitor anymore. Lord John knew Jamie for nearly 10 years and in all that time he never mentioned Fergus and many more years after that did he learn of his daughter Brianna. I wish we could have seen the shock on Lord John’s face when he was introduced to the Fergus Fraser, Jamie and Claire’s grown son, in Jamaica. I can’t wait for the day that Fergus, Brianna, and William all sit at the table together.

"I would do anything for you" Ok but why did this video just destroy me 😭 You can tell he genuinely is in love with her. She seems to be extremely professional and I bet you any amount of money they would be together if they weren't coworkers. In another life 😢😢😢😢😢 Also, they have definitely talked about it together before. The way she responded to that question means she's either been asked it a ton, or they have talked about it amongst themselves and concluded it wouldn't work 😢
