@maholy89
@maholy89 25 күн бұрын

Hi Christian loved your video, i will be walking and camping as i go on the Kerry way in a couple of weeks time. What did you think of the Scarp tent, any major likes or dislikes. looking forward to part 2 of your travels on the Kerry Way. Seamus
@maholy89
@maholy89 3 ай бұрын
Great to hear, that your are planning to do the Kerry Way. I got the Scarp tent because two of my previous tents got smashed by high winds. I wanted to have a rock solid tent, which is why I bought the Scarp 1. I haven’t tested it yet in terrible weather, but so far I’m happy with it. It makes a very solid impression, but it’s not the lightest. Also, I needed to do quite a few optimizations which is kind of annoying when buying a tent at this price point. But all good so far 👍

Good question, I’m not entirely sure. However, I didn’t perceive it as too much. There definitely was a lot of road walking out of Ardara and on the last day from An Port to Ardara. We followed the way marked trail, which was easy to navigate. However, if you want more mountain hiking, I think there are some nice coastal mountains leaving An Port. So instead of following the road from there, you could go into the mountains ahead. I have no idea how good of a trail you will find there. But it’s probably gonna be worth it.

Beautifully shot. What temperatures did you experience during your hike, what comfort rating sleeping bag should I carry on my hike to the Lofoten?
@maholy89
@maholy89 4 ай бұрын
Hi, good question. I used a down sleeping bag with a comfort rating of +4 Celsius with an extra liner. It was actually quite warm, but I was also super lucky with the weather. It was around 15-20 degrees most of the time. I hiked in June, so it didn’t really get dark, which means the temperature also didn’t drop that much in the night.

Hey Paul, it took me 8 days. Yes I met a few people out there, but not a lot of hikers. Especially along the Slea head drive there are usually quite a few tourists. However, apart from that the trail is mostly quite secluded indeed.

Hi, it looks awesome!!! may I have a question about wild camping there? Do you think there is a chance to build a tent a stay a night somewhere around Lough Gouragh or Lough Calle? I would love to go there with kids, so maybe a round trip from the parking, then not to climb the top, but go left and decent to the path along the Lough Calle and back. And it would be lovely to spend a night there. Is it busy there? Or is there a chance to hide away from the sight of tourists, rangers or sth like that. Thanks a lot.
@maholy89

Hi there, thanks for your comment. I have seen people wild camp around these lakes. So yes, it’s absolutely possible. However, two things to keep in mind 1) it can get a bit boggy around these lakes especially when there was heavy rainfalls. So summertime might be best 2) from my knowledge these are private lands. Best would be to ask the farmer for permission or try to pitch late and leave early and leave no trace.

The Azores is a magical place, indeed :-) The old building is a hold luxury hotel called "Ruínas do Monte Palace Hotel". It was build in the 1980s to offer the ulimate luxury experience on the Island. However, apparently they went out of business and had to close it only 18 months after opening. Today only the ruins remain and it's a really surreal place to visit.

Hello,🐦🐦🐦 🦩🦩🦩🌺🌺May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
