I think all is as it should have been..magic only exists for a short period of time....even though it might not be perfect.Gerry Rafferty was perfectly ..imperfect .a beautifull soul. His music will live on in my life forever.

I;m amazed the BBC failed to burned ALL copies of this as leftists hated B.A's guts for making music the armed forces liked as well as for the song Maggie.

Gerry sounds like me! If he were alive I’m sure we’d get on! lol. Very quiet, introverted, shy, don’t like being the center of attention, etc

I was eating a gyro sandwich walking down 8th Avenue When a young girl came up to me and said, “Brother, you got something I can chew?” Well I kept walking along trying to make up a song about what to do Telling how the city nights and the Broadway lights are like a dream come true Good old… New York, New York, so good they named it twice New York, New York, all the scandal and the vice, I love it! New York, New York, now isn’t it a pity… What they say about New York City It was a really nice night for a good street fight or a robbery But I always knew in my home town that would never happen to me I kept walking around trying to make up a sound ‘bout what it’s like to be In the city of light on a rag time night, it’s something more than free In good old… New York, New York, so good they named it twice New York, New York, all the scandal and the vice, 1 love it! New York, New York, now isn’t it a pity… What they say about New York City Every time I have to leave and travel far away I am never ever happy ‘Til I’m home to stay Home to stay in New York New York, New York, so good they named it twice New York, New York, all the scandal and the vice, I love it! New York, New York, now isn’t it a pity… What they say about New York New York, New York, so good they named it twice New York, New York, all the scandal and the vice, I love it! New York, New York, now isn’t it a pity… What there doin’ to New York, doin’ to New York, doin’ to New York City

Grew up with his music in the 70s as a kid and I know it'll be part of my life till the day I die.. His music reaches parts of the soul no other artist can reach.. If there is an afterlife.. I hope there is a record player.

As a stubborn Yorkshire git,I adore Gerry say their telling the big shots he dunt give 2 shits about em,hell do it on his terms, like me, only Iv zero talent and it’s cost me a bloody fortune,my pride has stopped me doing a lot of things so we are better as a minority among our people, but when it’s someone who has the chance to conform and compromise to be a star but doesn’t? Gotta love the ability to make that decision, stupid or not it takes a certain person 🇬🇧👍

I've always known Baker Street and Stuck In The Middle, but I've only just really discovered Gerry Rafferty through his song Whatever's Written In Your Heart. I love that song and so does my dog - she sings along with me when I sing it to her. I kid you not! What I was going to comment on was the amount of effort that must have gone into his album cover artwork.....man they were incredible, they don't put that kind of effort in anymore, especially for album covers ✌️

His music is pretty good. But what gets me is how most everyone is making excuses for him being an asshole and treating people like shit. He was selfish, pure and simple.

He’s a man of many talents and redeeming qualities. His songs including Baker Street and Right Down the Line were extremely memorable. Two of the most familiar and the most beloved songs I grew up to. I miss these songs so much even though I listened to John Lennon’s Woman later as I grew older including many other childhood favorites. It’s so sad to lose both Gerry Rafferty and John Lennon. May their legacy continue to shine!❤️❤️❤️❤️😭
