Is it me or do I notice that the Subie is not as well planted and sure of itself on those twisty roads. You may have gain some crawling ability off road but you killed it's onroadability. Now put some snow on that road and you will be sliding like nobodies business.

As someone who has had to take evasive action to avoid being hit on my bike by someone channeling their inner Richard Burns on public dirt roads, I just want to suggest that you load up on millions in liability insurance for your licensed film production company. Be careful out there, guys.

I own a 2017 Subaru Forester XT. I am currently dealing with a damaged transmission that a shop is claiming the front differential, which had no fluid in it, caused the transmission to fail. Is that possible in a CVT transmission?

I like those practical based videos! I'm considering to get a rear torq locker for my SH 6speed diesel but i'm not sure if the center lock hack works for mtm aswell and if not make it any sense to get a rear locker without permanent "locked" drive to the rear. Maybe you can help me out

My front limited slip still works on my 08 2.5 outback base with 230k. Im not sure about the rear... But when I put the front wheel drive fuse in both front spin with no delay. 💯👌

Is it possible to do a similar thing to a 2014 subaru outback with CVT?
@powerofyourbrains
@powerofyourbrains 8 ай бұрын
The wiring changes year to year but the mechanism and differential itself is exactly the same, even in CVT models. This is why we don't give detailed instructions, but if you're comfortable with interpreting a wiring diagram this should be entirely the same general concept. This mod is only not possible with non-vtd manual transmissions such as the MT5, because they don't have a clutch pack.

Is it even a POYB video if you *don't* break an axle?? That was a ton of fun, thanks. Cool music, who put that together?
@powerofyourbrains
@powerofyourbrains 8 ай бұрын
Thanks! The driveshaft shop rears have held up well. We're hoping a camber correction will help preserve the OEM front replacements since we're not actually fans of replacing them believe it or not. The video and music are all POYB, so if the combination sounds weirdly appropriate that's why. We upload those shakeycam videos here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZucpGiCoJxggaMsi=c96D_OrCRzLFJYKQ

@@powerofyourbrains Nice...are all of you musicians? I'm a drummer "by trade" but fiddle around with guitar & piano/synth stuff for fun. I farted around with a set of Volcas for a while but sold them off and got a Minilogue to fart around with instead. Nice setup you've got!
@powerofyourbrains
@powerofyourbrains 8 ай бұрын
@@softroadingthewest Nice, I didn't know that. Minilogue is pretty sweet too, I used to have one...well I still do in a box in the corner of my office that I was supposed to sell 6 months ago. But let's not think about that... I think we all have been at some point but never together or in any professional capacity. I've played a bunch of instruments and been in a couple bands way back when, but now it's just for getting away from the computer to make something weird. And farting around is the best - the song in this video is a good example of that. Most of the drums were just haphazardly added during recording.

This is everything you need to know. At 3 inches you'll probably just want to get/make .5" or 1" trailing arm spacers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6CwZaV6mJl9mJIsi=IswCKlC2A1xOk3pX

Cool video, I was hoping someone could answer a question. I have a 2011 forester with a 4EAT and I've been reading online that the power distribution splits to 50/50 no matter what when in manual mode. Is that similar to this mod or is there a difference?

The lockup is increased in 1 and 2 but our testing showed significantly less torque bind, so it's probably only about 70-80% locked.

If brakes + gas helps you winch, that sounds like you might have a worn out center diff or maybe a vacuum leak
