For your tip about figuring out where a profile is broken, another method is to offset the line (using chain selection) and just drag it out. The opening will become very apparent.

When inserting a component from another design as a new component you can only move the component one time. After it has been fixed in the design it can no longer be moved. So you have to design all components from scratch and not insert from existing design. At least in the free version.

You Should include how in when you extrude or any fusion option where you have to make a selection you can click the selection again to remove it. This is really helpful when you have a large group of things selected and only want to remove one thing.

I was a Solidworks Structural designer that did Hovercrafts and boats for the Navy. First thing i lectured with parametric 3d modeling is Design intent. Before you start making parts figure out what might change down the line. I know you can't plan for every change but you can build parts based off if certain holes or shafts etc.. and that way if you ever run into changes down the line in real life you can modify a few dimensions that updates most of the model without redoing the entire thing just because they moved a shaft over 5 cm or needs a thicker Pad Eye Lifting Point

Very nice! But at t=1:54 in the movie you choose to create a second pentagon that has twice the base as the initial - you did not explain why you chose that value. Any other value would not work, as there is some math hidden behind that choice. I challenge you to construct the football based on constrains alone, without using any trigonomie. Are you up to it?

My vote is for old CATIA, before version 5 turned it into a byzantine quagmire. In my opinion, it was the last of the CAD/CAM packages that could be self taught. It was elegant, simple, straight forward, and yet very powerful. Too many of the packages these days try to make up for a lack of working knowledge in analytic geometry and math, and try to replace them with a plethora of gimmicky pop-up windows.

Is there a way to select all objects/bodies of the same type, lets say you had hundreds of cases like the ones in the video, how could one select all of them at once? Or select all instances or similar objects/bodies?

Tyler, At 3:38, you say: "... and then you want to connect the sketch geometry to the origin and fully define it which makes it easier to edit in the future." Wouldn't it be best to start at the origin.....rather than connecting to the origin at the end almost as an afterthought?

Two ideas to improve your vids: hide your Windows taskbar so we don't see it popping up all the time (that's distracting); and make sure that your mouse is being captured on the video, since I have no idea what you dragged to make that joint rotate, nor where you're pointing when you say "this object".

You have used the terms "rigid joint" and "rigid group" synonymously but they are two different things. A rigid group holds two or more components and they don't even need to touch. A joint always connects two components and is meant to have the components snap together. An As-Built joint is the exception where they don't need to touch, but it is still only between two components.

I can't believe it was so many years before this tip started showing up. I wish it was hold down shift or control in stead of double click. That seams more controllable to me.

I don't understand how something as basic as TInkerCad has such a common sense feature, but fusion360 we have to create sketches rather than have a default setting in the grid settings.

When you're selecting edges on a 3D object, how do you prevent Fusion from allowing you to select edges that you can't see? As a basic example, if I'm looking inside a box that I want to select all the internal corners to fillet, Fusion also allows external corners to get selected without them being visible (selected them through the object, if that makes sense). I've tried googling this in an attempt to find the correct setting, but I feel like I'm googling the wrong terminology.

I appreciate that you included the concept to print for us to see. Most content seems to skip over some of the "minor" relevant issues we may encounter such as how to export a mesh, printer settings and clearance considerations. I know it takes more of your time, but I really enjoy watching the entire process. Thanks!!

Tyler, I have a question about rectangular patterns, specifically centering them. I understand the extent and spacing options, but it doesn’t address centering the pattern (margins around the edges). In the example above, would you choose the length and width dimensions to center the holes? That would give you a margin equal to the spacing between the hole centers, but what if you wanted a larger or smaller margins ? Am I over thinking this? Thanks for sharing all your thoughts
