Hi! Question, what should I do if I can get the battery grip on and off successfully but I can't turn the key to get the batteries out. This has never happened to me before. I was photographing a sporting event yesterday and my batteries died. I was going to put new ones in and realized the little spin thingy to get the batteries out is suuupper hard and beyond jammed. Please any advise?

You may have to re-format the drive. Can't say for sure you will get the data off easily. But it may be worth trying if you can't access your data via usb anymore. If you are on Windows and your drive is detected without formating, you're good

I'm having input output errors with my Seagate 8TB external desktop drive. My file and folders are only recognizable for a few seconds when I connect to my PC or laptop, then the folders are listed as empty, and I get the I/O error. Yet in disk mgmt, the drive is listed as having "healthy" status. Is it possible that connecting directly to internal SATA using the tape method will allow me to access files so I can copy them? I'm not looking for a long term fix, just a temporary hack and will discard the drive when I'm done.

I ran it quite some time without putting anything on the vrms or ram. Never had any issue in that regard but for making the device last longer it probably would be ideal to add some small heatsinks if you can for them. Proper and constant airflow over these components goes a long way too. So, I'd say it's unlikely foe you to fry your card just for not adding some more heatsinks.

Why nobody tries to explain in clear details how to connect the Kraken G12 and the AIO to the GPU? There are 2 to 3 fans and a pump usually involved in NZXT G12 configuration. Knowing where to connect them ON mobo/PSU/GPU is the most crucial point for us noobs! Help us for low temperature’s sake!

You’d just connect the G12 fan where the fans plugged in on the graphics card lol. And then the AIO fans will connect to where the AIO fans would normally connect on the motherboard.

hey, that's quite hard to answer without knowing more. If you bought a 2.5" drive, then you may be able to fit it into a laptop. If your external drive is complying with the 3.5" form factor, then you will be out of luck trying to install it in any laptop. Some laptops feature other standards for hard drive space tho; like m.2 or it is even soldered onto the mainboard.

There should also be a serial number pressed into the black leatherette on the left hand side, a letter and four numbers: Y3544 in my case so it's 1952/53. Your lens doesn't say Jena so it's post WW2. The year letters are: P 1949/50 S 1950/51 T 1951 U, V, X 1951 Y 1952/53 A, B 1953/55 C 1954/55 D 1955/56 F 1956 L 1956/61 O 1956/57 Q 1960 R 1961/62

Hey there, this is exactly what I was looking for, you are a lifesaver<3 One question I have however, is whether it is now ready to be put into a RAID configuration? It is what I am planning to do and according to some sources the external ones aren't 100% the same as the internal ones. The one detail that caught my eye was the size of cache. The external one is only 32mb compared to that of the internal one's 256. Am I going to create a horrible bottleneck by installing a former external drive into my RAID storage? Thanks.
@ALLGEAREDUP
@ALLGEAREDUP 2 жыл бұрын
Well, it absolutely depends on what you will be doing in raid. Obviously external and internal drives are not rated the same as nas or enterprise drives. If you are writing large date on your raid, then the cache mattes less (for eg. when you use it for file storage of images, videos and so on), a game library should be fine too. If you intend to use the raid for virtualization, then cache becomes increasingly more important. That said, in sich cases you will often create even multiple separate cache drives for your host system to use. What's the use-case for your raid?

@@dylanlow1727 I guess it depends on the cards overall design. Mine was using a blower-fan design and therefore was less reliant on the cooling solution. That said. I have also played around with some additional heatsinks on the RAM modules and such. In my case it did not make a huge difference as the card always hovered around max 70C under load and when the water was saturated. There may have been other reasons for quick spikes up to around 100C when the cooler and the dye don't make great contact.

@ALLGEAREDUP
@ALLGEAREDUP 2 жыл бұрын
hey. So, what you are asking is using and having the benefit of an internal HDD whilst not having the drive installed in your computer? That won't work unfortunately. You have the option to either connect it to the internal SATA connectors or you will have to go through a USB Connection. If you were to apply the tape and keep the drive in an external case, you won't have any benefit and risk for the controller (in the external case) to not communicate properly with the drive.

Voiceover mics and Vocal mics are usually two different animals. There are exceptions like the TLM103 and the U87ai which can be used for both and sound great although expensive. I would use the 214 for voiceover because it’s brighter, not that you can’t use it as a singing mic nor is it that you can’t use the 27b as a voiceover mic but the 27b sounds better for singing because of its subdued 47-style frequency curves, warmth and playability. Each mic is optimized for a specific use.
@ALLGEAREDUP
@ALLGEAREDUP 2 жыл бұрын
Totally! The friend who lent me the 214 uses it in his recording studio mainly for singing or metal shouting, micing up the snare on a drum kit or some other things. I myself, find the high-end a bit harsh at times. Generally, I like more neutral mics and then either plug them into hardware that allows for tweaking or do something with it in post. that said, some people just need something they plug in, hit record and that's all they want to do. And the 27B is advertised as an instrument microphone. So, there is that too =) For me, if I had to go with just one mic that is not only used for voiceover, but I would also go with the shure over the 214, thinking its user is more flexible overall.
@azarlane9553
@azarlane9553 2 жыл бұрын
@@ALLGEAREDUP agreed. In the end, the “modern mic” (treble-heavy) mic sound is not really ideal. There is a reason why classic mics with classic voicings are chosen by producers which just sound better in the mix. Inexperienced laymen are initially impressed with shimmer and shine but just like wine as their ears age and learn their taste begins to mellow and they start to desire “warmer” and “darker”, not to mention wanting to avoid as many sibilance issues as possible. You always want a mic that is voiced as close to its final result in the mix as necessary, coming straight out of the gate...so that there is as little tweaking needed in the final mix. There is an excellent article which Sound on Sound magazine put out in 2010 which showcased a whole slew of different mics to different styled singers. In the article/video the singers initially chose a specific mic “as their favorite” maybe because of a mic’s aura or based on some personal bias, but when they actually sat down with the producer and were asked to blindly choose which mic really sounded best in the mix they chose mics with classic voicings that was different than their original mic choice! Your 27b has a voicing which is excellent for singing also because it’s frequency response has a similar shape to the U47 which is optimized for singing and is not overly airy or treble-heavy and where you can play with it more easily in the mix. And like you said because of its neutrality you can use it for different instruments as well because it is so versatile.

a regular internal drive can go up to 500MB/s that is the maximum of the SATA protocol. But to answer your question: if your write speeds are this low with a drive, then it is most likely the chip in the external drive enclosure and most likely not an usb3 interface that you are connecting to your computer. So, I would bet on getting better reads and writes as an internal drive
