I’d like to say that the benefits package was OK and that the pay was OK minus the fact that they sell you on you being salaried non-exempt meaning you qualify for overtime and that you will get a percentage commission of the gross profit on the store however they end up not ever paying you any overtime because they don’t allow you to clock in or out

From what I've gathered is that launch makes the thinkcar tools, the top Don's and the Astech all-in-one. all pretty much have the same Hardware each company has a different set of software running for the top Don seems to be the most capable tool as the tablet and then the repairify smart link box seems to be the most functional. I don't know what happened with Astech but they stopped programming engine and transmission modules I think they will only do them if you have the Matco version of their tool, the Maxi Flash. I personally use the Astech device with manufacturers I'm not completely set up for. I'm doing OEM scans, calibrations and adas module programming with them when needed. And srs mods too. But I'm also more of a collision center service more than mechanical so astech may work for me better than opus would for the remote needs.

I might do that. I went through and redid the audio on a bunch of the old episodes for the podcast. I didn't think to come back to the YT episodes.

Well let’s be honest, half the check engine lights I see in 2024 are caused by a dtc threshold of 10.0v on an EFB battery and charging system that operates at 12.0v at idle and while cruising. Battery dips below 10 while cranking one morning over two seconds, voila you’re looking at low voltage or can codes in every system, and they don’t just go to past, they remain current costing you c.y.a. Time. And no f.f.d. Stored to tell you what the voltage was at the time the dtc set. ENGINEERS, EXPLAIN THAT TO THE CUSTOMERS. That’s why nobody wants to do this job anymore.

Dealerships suck for customers even more than for techs. I was flat rate tech who did tons of evaporators. Chrysler Jeep audited our deslership because i would do them in an hour😅 They literally brought in 4 reps to watch me. In 20 mins i had heater box on my bench. 4 jaws dropped and they went to breakfast w my service director 🎉 i should of asked for a raise
