If you think that's a long hole then take a look at St Andrews 2000 golf course in Chonburi, Thailand. The 13th hole is a 910 yard par 6 off the championship tees. Myself and 3 mates played this course back in 2010 and between us we managed 1 birdie, 2 pars and 1 bogey. I was the bogey maker.

The Meadows Farm courses have a number of interesting, fun gold holes. I've always considered the par 6 to be kind of boring. You just keep hitting the ball until you get to the hole. You have to hit a pretty bad shot to get in serious trouble.

@MarkEresGolf You should have played Brickshire while you were there, the courses are right beside each other. Brick is equally as interesting, one of its par 3’s was once called the most difficult par 3 in VA (from the tips) and hole 18 was ranked as the prettiest hole in VA. By the way, you had some lucky pin placement on that day, believe me it could have been much worse.

back in the early 70's when I was on the op of my game, one of my buddies heard there was a par 6 in the Poconos in PA where we are from. We found the course, called and got a tee time. It was the middle of a brutal summer, hadn't rained in 2 weeks, fairways were like a parking lot. The hole was 745 yards. I got the name King Kong from my golf coach in 1969 when I wouldn't tee off until the other 4 some was on the green, 340 yards away. He said who do you think you are King Kong. I ended up on the front fringe. Every day we played someone would put a banana on my bag. As for the par 6 I crushed a drive and it just kept going, and looked and I still had a long way home. Hit a driver from the deck and it bounced and ended up off the back of the green. I was 85 feet away from an albatross, but with my luck ended up with a birdie, the green was as hard as a pool table

Great birdie! I get to play Firestone occasionally here in Akron Ohio. Number 16 on the north course is a 667 yard par 5 called the Monster. I typically play from the white tees as I am just a bogey golfer but when I get to 16 I play from the blues just because. Have yet to par it : )

So glad I got a chance to play this course a dozen times this past summer. I moved uptown closer to this course, so don't play in Maryland as much. The concept video looks amazing! Can't wait to get back out there.

As I retired professional I want to let you know that anyone who gives you attitude for playing a 6300 course has some issues. The US PGA advises a person who drives the ball around 250 yards should play a 6,200 to 6,400 yards. You seem to hit it a bit further then that but the course was wet so you will lose distance. I don't understand why the average golfer wants to hit 4 irons or fairway woods into greens. The guys on tour play a lot of wedges and short irons into greens, so why shouldn't the average golfer pick the tees that give them the same golf experience. We play golf to have fun and have birdie chances. Play the tees that give you shorter irons in and the par 5s if you hit two good shots you might reach the green. Golfers hitting it 250 to 270 don't need to be playing 7,000 yards I am with you, I think 16 and 18 are both better then 17. Of course that is just my opinion.

^^couldnt agree more. Golf is meant to be fun and if ppl can take ego out, I think rounds (especially at public courses) will be quicker and more fun overall. Cheers to ya!

Hi Mark, I really appreciate the videos. I’m from Pittsburgh and I’m looking into a golf trip into Williamsburg. We are looking to play 2 different courses. Based off videos we like This and Royal New Kent. I would love your input on which two you think are most worth the experience!
@MarkEresGolf
@MarkEresGolf 7 күн бұрын
@@trevorbrncic2323 what’s up buddy, appreciate the comment and support! You’ll be spoiled in the Williamsburg area, great courses locally and a few good ones that are maybe an hour ish away. If you can only do two, I think it’s between - Golden Horseshoe (gold course, green is ok but worth a try if you have time), Kingsmill River Course and Royal New Kent. Kingsmill and Horseshoe are maybe 10ish minutes apart so really easy to hit both in one trip. RNK I think is like 30-40 minutes based on traffic. If you can do all 3 I’d check those out, if you only have time for 2, then can’t go wrong choosing any combo. Only downside of Kingsmill River is you have to be a guest on their resort to play it as it’s semi-private, the rest are open to public. Cheers to ya!

I had to work in VA for a good while, so I played this course a good number of times. It’s a fun track. Out of all the rounds, I only par’d this hole once. I never played the tips on the rest of the holes, but for this hole, I always played the tips just for fun. All the water is hidden, which makes it necessary to know your line and trust that line. The people that run the course are super nice and the surrounding area is really pretty.

I’ve heard and read online that the other 2 courses are “better” to play than the longest 9. But I feel like if i had to choose one of the 9s, I hadddd to do the one with the longest hole lol. Appreciate your input and will def check these out again during warmer months. Cheers!

Awesome birdie! I’ve played #17 at Black Mountain (NC) Golf Club. That’s a tight 747 yard par 6. BMGC is nestled in some lovely Blue Ridge scenery. I think the course is still closed after Hurricane Helene, but should re-open this spring.
