The Gao Jia Shan Tian Jian is really great, and it's made me really interested in trying other heicha. It's been a perfectly mellow yet complex tea when I wasn't really interested in a particular type of tea like pu'erh or oolong or black tea.

I have a brick of this same year and I almost never reach for it, not because I don’t like it but because it super compressed and annoying to break up. I agree that the bitterness is fairly mild/medium. To me this tea is loaded with peach aroma and florals, very sweet and enjoyable. I used to only drink ripes but primarily drink young sheng now. My go-to’s lately are YS Tiger in the Mists which I’d say is on par with this tea in terms of a balanced sweet and bitter sheng, also farmerleaf’s Tang Fang Liang Zi is one of my daily drinkers, it’s not as sweet but more toasty and bitter.

It seems like they are shipping to Europe, it at least converted into my local currency + asked if I wanted to set the shipping address to my country when I accessed the site. It sounds like a nice one, I for sure should try and place an order soon. I really should get around to trying more non-bulang teas, especially if I want young sheng to drink daily... One that stands out to me as a nice daily young sheng is CLT's moon princess, and their simple sheng (which I wish glenn would remake into a full cake), those two sometimes have been able to brew up super sweet and nicely fruity somehow. Thanks for bringing attention to less commonly used vendors here in the west!

I cannot see myself ever paying $240 for a 200g shou cake. There are so many banger's out there for relatively cheap, and most of the stuff I drink is going to be in the daily drinker tier. I've yet to have anything that was more than $1/g that blew my mind enough to buy a whole cake (as far as shou goes). I don't even necessary want a super complex shou either. The thing I love about it about is that it's consistent and great for a relatively low price most times. If I want complexity and intensity then I usually find the money better spent on sheng.

I would imagine I would actually gravitate towards the Yunnan stored tea, based on my experience with Yee on and other vendors, who sells "HK-storage" or "traditional storage", I find that my preference often is more towards Kunming and Yunnan storage in general. I don't mind the dank teas that you can get from Hong Kong, and I actually do like them. However, for me, brighter notes is what I typically enjoy a lot more on a daily drinker-type tea. Really interesting comparison though. I would love to have the chance to get the same production from 2-3 different storages to test this myself.
