When it’s more than 60/70 cents per gram I will at least have a taste of the rinse idc, or if the rinse is longer than 10 seconds bc that’s basically the first infusion

I'm all for discarding a puer rinse, but do you ever drink the rinse on yancha or lapsang? I've taken Paul from White2Teas advice and set aside the rinse of these teas to cool and drink at the end of the session and have found it to be the best way to see how these teas change over the course of their brewing.

Not typically. I know that's a common way to do it, but I'm rarely trying to maximize brews on teas anyways.
