I just saw this video and thanks for your review. Octave is not talked about enough in the United States in my opinion. I own the jubilee pre-amplifier and it is excellent. I’ve considered the 220 amp, but have always been a bit intimidated by the potential problems that come with tubes. Your video is reassuring in that regard and it sounds like Octave amps have incredible sound quality and have eased the burden of maintaining tubes. How would you judge the 220 compared to the unit you reviewed in this video? Thanks again for your very thorough analysis.

Just got one so I really need to let it run for a while to get the best from this? interesting I think out of the box it already shows it's strength.

If it cost £400 more what with the big shack surpize,it not going sound worse ,especially from the same manifacture. I don't really get why their was such a surprize, if you put more suger in your cup of tea surpize,it taste sweeter.

Hello! During the second test, you showed an image of the Volumio Rivo but mentioned the Volumio Rivo Plus. Which of the two Volumio models did you test - Volumio Rivo Plus or Volumio Rivo?

I guess my plain ol' non-Neo, non-Ultra SOtM sms-200 is... old now. I've had it for four or five years (who can remember what happened before the pandemic in 2020?) and have loved using it via ethernet from a Mac Mini running Roon (possibly back before there was such a thing as "Roon Ready" for peripherals), then using the SOtM's exclusive "Audio USB" output to a multiple-source Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus (also probably six or eight years old and still thriving) and from there to the (switchable) AUX/TAPE RCA inputs of various vintage '60s and '70s amps/receivers (McIntosh, Sansui, The Fisher, Pioneer, Harman-Kardon, etc.). My only complaint has to do with occasional dropouts and disconnections, but I'm not sure that's a networking problem. It may just mean I need to replace my 2018 Mac Mini and attached 20Tb external USB hard drive (for my library of FLAC/ALAC files) to run Roon better...

Got a AW 60 a AW 120 and EEC -1 . My opinion the Electrocompaniets are the best . They are better than the Luxman 's and Accuphase's power amps which I own. The Electrocompaniet's have better bass control and are more musical and non fatiguing. The speakers I have are B @ W 804 Matrix [ approx. 1996] The AW 60 Drives them easily which says what quality amp they are as B @ W like a lot of power

I have the new Volumio Rivo+ with the Lineo 5 PS, and it replaces the Eversolo DMP-A6 with LPS upgrade, and the Rivo+ was a significant upgrade over the DMP-A6 as a transport. Very much looking forward to a future I2S DAC upgrade in the future, but for now, it was a very nice upgrade to my system. I have moved the DMPA6 to my desktop headphone stack, but I cannot “un-hear” the Rivo+, so I suspect I am going to be selling the eversolo and getting a used Rivo for the desktop,

That 550 could put out 60 or 70 Watts but that wasn't Class A.. Class A was about as specified. Any push-pull 'Class A' amp can do that because it can slide to Class B when Class A power is exceeded. These are really high Class A biased Class AB amps. Nothing wrong with that as long as they are not misleadingly marketed. If you want to call your Class AB amp which puts out 100W of which 10W are in Class A, a 10W Class A amp that's OK with me. What is not OK is to call it a 100W Class A amp. Accuphase actually specify all this (Class A and Class AB power) in their 'Class A' amps which is the best and most honest practice in my view.

Nothing shocking about this video at all. Just another audio channel trying to steer people into the more expensive choice while going out of its way to make the more budget friendly piece look like crap.

Creating playlists for > 2000 songs is quite a lot of work. On Rose streamers you cannot have your m3u-Playlists on your usb disk. You have to start on your smartphone the app RoseConect and login to your rose account. Only then you can create and modify online playlists. many users are frustrated about the playlist dis-functionality. You cannot export those playlists and if the servers have downtime you have no access to your playlists. For this reason I did not buy this steamer. If I want to listen to music, I want to turn on the streamer, select my playlist directly on the display of the streamer and start listening to music w/o reaching out for a smart phone, unlock it, start an app and select a playlist. I also use my playlists on my mobile music player. I never would create a playlist which I cannot export and save for re-usage and for duplication and modification on my PC. The concept of online playlists is just a very customer unfriendly vendor lock-in.

How does this compare with the HiFi Rose RS 130

ha! headline, the notes say 'no cardboard box stands a chance'. Or in my case - no falsely advertised technics 1210g stands a chance at being delivered by this company without huge damage, nearly a year of emails back and forth with no resolution in sight and non stop broken proimises. if you want elite treatment, service, responsiveness, elite audio should be the very bottom of your list!!!

beware of elite audio special offers - they ususally go something like this: pay over thousands, receive damage goods which were falsely advertised and then gear up for some shockingly bad customer service. e-lite?? e-shite more like!

elite sound??? i bought a 1210G from this outfit 10 months ago and i have NO SOUND! They misadvertised it, broke it in transport and have since delivery failed at every step to resolve the issues or take the unit back which would have been the honourable thing to do. AVOID!!!!!

fortunately i have never had the displeasure to meet any of the elite audio team but what i can say with certainty is that if you spend thousands with them and then have a problem you can be guaranteed to be ignored, treated with disdain and let down repeatedly! avoid this company at all costs!

funny video this one - leaving out arguably one of the very top streamers in the world (the Antipodes Oladra) after Antipodes had the common sense to remove elite audio from their dealer network due to their terrible customer service and lack of porfessionalism. The video should be titled - 'top streamer from all the ones elite can sell you, excluding better ones they are not good enough to sell'

Sack is a great way to describe mark and his company - or more like sack rot! After nearly a year of buying a damaged high end turntable from him he's still fobbing me off making excuses and failing to deliver on any of his promises. AVOID ELITE AUDIO LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I love mine for so many reasons. I have ripped my mqa cds to the ssd and it fully unfolds. Out to tubes and verity speakers. Up samples your cds. Rip to wav and it puts in the art and such. Was not a lot of difference between first gen Weiss 501 and this dac. Rose tube video without ads. Meters lol

Mark, it was great to meet you, albeit briefly, at the show. Your systems were amazing, and you had definitely managed to compensate for the room acoustics pretty well. Other exhibitors in smaller rooms really struggled to control lower frequencies, with one actually suspending demos at one point. Pleased to see a Scottish exhibition resurrected however I also only heard about it from your website, maybe next year it will be busier. With it being marketed as a high end show a lot of the systems were aspirational, and the predominantly middle aged male attendees probably reflected that. The future of Hifi is the next generation and it would have been nice to see some quality entry level systems good enough to draw in those with less disposable income. Really appreciate the effort you and your team put into this event and look forward to the next one. 👏🏻👏🏻. Scottie
