Linn demonstated that you don't have to through hundreds of thousands of pounds into a system and have fancy room tuning to get great sound, there were systems from others that sounded more than equal for less than £10,000.

Hi,i used to visit a lot of the hifi shows in the past ,and I loved to see all the new tech and new products and sitting in on the demo's, but i stopped going because to the shows because of the music going from one room to another ,the rooms all sound the same playing dreary music,and if you asked to play any music they wouldn't, just in case it made there systems sound bad.i think if you're going to to the show looking for ideas for a new product, the rooms should let you listen to music of your taste or something similar. All the best,i do enjoy watching your videos. You are very passionate about hifi and music

Free, Bad Company, 2 Unlimited, Bon Jovi,AC/DC, Sheff. Drum Kit......real Pop, Dance and Rock music that most punters listen to. Diana BOOOORing Krall (yawn) and similar sloooooow simple music is SAFE music that sounds OK on anything. Same as you, that's why I stopped going to Shows in 2012. Might go to the London Show in April but bet the music will be SAFE, EASY one/two note Jazz/female vocal music that is NO TEST for HIFI in my opinion ?????

Hi David, firstly thank you very much for your comments. It is appreciated. I honestly love HiFi and music, could't live without them! I agree about the music choices. Interstingly, we played, AC/DC, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour plus some Jazz and Blues favourites we have. We avoid the usual suspects like Diana Krall etc! Maybe we can tempt you back next year? Interesting you mention how people have got to the systems they have. My way was trial and error, simply buying bits I thought I'd like, selling off what I didn't. Experimenting with new stuff (tubes), DACs etc. I have made some costly mistakes, such as falling for hype and realising I just bought a load of crap. My journey is far from over, so many sounds and brands and versions I want to play with. Why can't I just have a boring and cheap hobby like playing snooker..
