Thank you, Fr Andrew, but in the Christ Story, and in this video's explanation, I see an argument for why the Gospel IS a sales pitch, but one of a different kind. 1: Christ was performing healings alongside his evangelizing. You may not consider those actions as part of his pitch, but the implication couldn't help be experienced as: honor my kingdom and receive this kind of healing. 2. It's more of a pitch than a PSA because those he preached to still had a choice. They could choose to pursue the Kingdom of God or remain the Kingdom of Man. He pitched why the Kingdom of God was, forgive me for the reductionist language, but, to use your metaphor, "a superior product" to the Kingdom of Man. 3. The choice between Kingdoms is everywhere in Christ's message. Who the first are in man's Kingdom, who the first are in God's. What is woeful in man's Kingdom, what is woeful in God's. What a yoke is like in man's Kingdom, what a yoke is like in God's. All of that is pitchlike. Coke v Pepsi. McDonald's v Burger King. Nike v Addidas. Something sublime about Christ is how he transcends the pitch and expresses these comparisons of Kingdoms in exalted form.

I don’t think you can fully discount modern yogic practice as “just stretching” I am a former mekubbal and occultist and movement ,especially in a liturgical context, has meaning. If we’re going to split hairs on whether will and intent matter we could argue divination is fine as long as we’re asking The Trinity and powers of Heaven for our answers. In the same way If we’re dismissing modern innovation based on ancient practice we might as well tell prots “sorry you’re not Christians you’re just making hollow movements” outright

“You don’t put the gargoyle on the altar” This reminded me of a recent visit I made to the Anglican Church. The priest there was reading all of his scripture from an iPad. At times the iPad was placed on the altar with the illuminated Apple logo for all to see. The symbol of the fall placed next to the chalice. I have been considering writing to them to point this out. Perhaps I will

Why is the highest thing you can do, is to be a monk? I have heard Jonathan say that the monasteries are holding the world together (or something like that). My intuition is that they are participating in the logos in the deepest sense and surrendering human suffering as Christ did, but would love to know why Jonathan P says that is the pinnacle.

One of the best times I have seen the point about "becoming monsters to fight monsters" (~20:30, ff) is from the Hellsing manga, in which Alucard (the vampire) tells Fr. Anderson (Roman priest who has given up his central humanity to gain power enough to seemingly rival Alucard) that Anderson will never be able to kill him because "only a man can kill a monster." It is a truly deep insight, because it takes the True Man (Christ) to slay the monsters and set reality to rights.

The Holy Spirit nearly simultaneously compelled me to become Orthodox and repelled me from the Southern Baptist church where I had been until then been comfortable - before I even stepped foot in an Orthodox church. My intellectual objections had been knocked down through online debate, but that was merely an interesting academic exercise. Then a friend asked me to take part in a discussion which I had been heretofore avoiding, because I sensed that I'd have to convert if I participated, and I didn't really want to do that. I then attended an Easter cantata practice at my church in which the choir was acting the part of the crowd at Jesus' crucifixion, and it so viscerally repelled me that I nearly walked out in the middle of practice.

I know a guy online who lives in Malaysia who started claiming to be Orthodox. When queried, he wanted to become Orthodox but didn't know of any parishes where he was. I connected him to the Russian bishop in Hong Kong, and he was able to find a local parish and convert. There are still plenty of areas here in the US where a person may want to convert, but there's simply no parish close enough.

Jesus Christ, Son of The Living God, is the root of our Salvation No man comes to The Father, but by Him. Prayers go only through Christ, to our Heavenly Father. Prayers to other entities go nowhere! Only Jesus is our Lord, and Savior! The Holy Spirit lives within every true believer, and helps guide us, as Jesus said as He ascended back to Heaven after the Resurrection. We do not need a ‘governing body who tells us who, what, where and how to Worship! We are the Church, within each Christian Believer to live our lives before men as Christ taught in The Holy Bible, which we each are to study for ourselves, and understand . Having a home church is good, and brings together communities of believers to share in that, freely. Organizing one way to express that, in a Free country is not the answer! It’s wrong, and I pray God gives you guidance to not go there! It’s cut out Freedom of Worship! In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen Please read your Bible, not having only being read to!
