How well does the external fire do for drying out? Do you have any issues with the embers burning the tarp or tent? I am a hunter trying to decide whether I need to go the hot tent route, vs using an external fire for drying out. Hot tents have a big weight penalty, but the tarp can add a couple of pounds too. Another heating option might be the fire maple propane heater as well which could be run inside the vestibule. Ever tried propane heat? I know fire maple says not for indoor use, but I pretty sure that's just a "cover your a$$" policy by the company after talking with them. The buddy heaters use the same ceramic technology and are indoor safe.

Hey Abel. What's your favourite ultralight table. You were using the Alton but I just noticed you are using a different one now.
@AbelandVictoriaКүн бұрын
This travel bird one I use for a more lightweight option. The Alton is bigger and less finicky to set up both are good

Still my favourite part of the experience....vicariously having coffee in bed on a morning with crappy weather. I really appreciated both the van and tent camps - each was so different from the other, yet equally enjoyable. As for the power of suggestion, it's a real thing. I'm going to pull out a steak from my freezer now. Thanks, Abel! ✌️🇨🇦
