I just completed my consult and picture taking process for Invisalign and am supper nervous and have a million questions. This is going to sound like an odd question but what soap do you use to clean your tray? Is it better to use scented or un-scented?

An orthodontist on KZbin recommended soaking aligners in a 50/50 mix of water and hydrogen peroxide. I soak them while I’m eating, it keeps them sparkling clean. Just make sure to rinse them well before putting them back in your mouth.

The Ortho Keys are a must-have! I couldn’t get my trays off without them- I tried, and got cuts under my fingernails from the edges. Buy a multi-pack as you’ll want them on your keyring, in your wallet, your suitcase, etc. I found the retainer holder bulky so I use a small zippered pouch to hold my trays. I put some plastic tooth picks (with the fuzzy ends so you can brush a little) in the pouches so I can clean my teeth a bit at a restaurant or in car. And yes- you will never brush your teeth like you will when you’re wearing trays (I am nearly done with OrthoFX -works the same way)

I'm in tray 40 and it hurts so much. It never hurt like this before. My teeth are sensitive right now.

Tray 8 here. It was AWFUL after they put the attachments on before tray 3. It seemed to get less painful on tray 4, but the first 3 days or so of each week, my teeth are *SOO* sensitive. It's difficult to eat. Luckily, I only have 23 trays total. I'll be done at the very end of December.

Hi @maddie! It seriously has given me motivation. It's been 5 days since my Invisalign journey has started. Although I don't feel pain now but the problem is that whenever I put them back and use chewies on my back teeth I can hear "tick" kind of sound everytime I chew there and it doesn't get settled. It makes me feel that they're not fitted properly. Is it normal? I don't want poor tracking 🙄

I've got Invisalign and am also set to finish in September this year! So much of what you said was relatable. It's definitely been easier than I expected but I'm excited to finish the treatment soon!!

I never really get my nails done but got some really short oval shaped acrylics for vacation, it was ✨life changing✨ when it came to taking out my trays! Far easier then the ortho key. Changing my trays at night id wake up from the pain and couldn’t sleep, but figured if I take an Advil right before changing them at night and using a chewie before I fell asleep I’d sleep like a baby and my teeth where pretty much normal the next day!

hi archana! i believe that if you are flying from the contiguous US (the lower 48 states) and are a us citizen/have a visa, then you don't need a passport!

Invisalign's are so neat! I had braces but wish I had invisaligns because they're a lot less noticeable! Love seeing the progress!
