This guy is so wrong comparing Craftsman to US General toolboxes. Craftsman boxes are junk... Did he ever go look at the Harbour freight boxes? I`d compare the US general and Icon boxes against SnapOn ..NOT Craftsman.

My body and mind are my best tools that nothing I buy can make up for what my mind and body lack. I’m in my 40s and I feel it now days as far as tools I like high quality and have no real loyalty but I love USA made and when I have a choice I buy American usually old stock or nos or just plain used tools. They man who’s sells me a wrench set he’s not using needs the money more than harbor freight imo

Sorry but HOBO Freight and their Icon line are not up to professional quality, first off they have no clue what the alloy formula is that Snap On has developed and they have no clue the heat treating process Snap On has come up with that makes the Snap On so good. While HOBO Freight is good at copying the look of Snap On tools HOBO Freight tools are made with softer steel. Did you know that HOBO Freight came up with the Icon name because they are conning you with the poorly done copy of Snap On products.

Great design.. are you involved with Lisle Tool disclosure / invention submission on this..?? Sounds like you mentioned your input.. Also was wondering if doing that was it profitable..?? I have many ideas but am wondering what’s a typical reward for signing disclosure for your tool over to them..???

I’m a mobile technician. I work on conveyor systems. I bought snap on semi deep impact sockets only instead of getting shallow or deep or both. The reason being that space and weight are a big factor considering I’m working out of my pickup truck and also semi deeps take care of situations where you would need a deep socket and also work much better clearance wise than deep sockets do. Sure it would be ideal to have every tool for every exact situation but being mobile and driving a Toyota Tacoma limits me.

The epitome of an irrelevant test. The only test that matters is force applied in the direction that the tool would actually be used. Even then, all that matters is that the tool can handle the maximum forces it would likely encounter on the job.

Ya irrelevant unless it gives icon the advantage like some stupid plastic nut test because people like you can't accept the truth because you have low emotional intelligence intelligence.

The problem is today most people think they should get everything for pennies on the dollar, they don't care that they are supporting China over America to do it. This has happened in every industry. If you want quality it costs money, if you want cheap you will get cheap in return. What is that old quote, "Quality is not cheap and cheap is not quality". To many now think HOBO Freight and there Icrap line of tools are as good as Snap On, HOBO Freights Icrap line of tools does not come close to the number of tools offered by Snap On. You can't even by individual wrenches or sockets at HOBO Freight in the Icrap line of tools. If you misplace or loose a wrench or socket you are sheet out of luck to purchase a replacement, you have to purchase another entire set of Icrap wrenches or sockets just to replace one.

CP that vevor 3/4 drive set up to 2 1/2" has been tempting for the money. For a heavy duty guy i have all of the ones i use day in and day out but all those sizes by the 16th could save a guy alot of time digging through shop sockets to find one you need once month.

I’m a bit late in commenting, but I kind-of agree with you. Just started looking at Wright, and out of a 200K pop city, there is 1 distributor. Online orders suck as no one ever has any of their stuff in stock. The local distributor is great and they do the warranty (no questions) but it has to be in store and their stock of replacements is limited. The quality of their sockets reminds me of old manufacturing process…thick, heavy stamped steel. It’s hard to see videos of their Ohio plant, but from what I have found, it looks straight out of the early 1900’s and is a far cry from Snap-On manufacturing. Their marketing division is pure trash with subpar videos and an internet webpage from the early 2000’s.
