T4 in the bike and old pickup. 15 dollars to change em both minus filter of course. Truck has a billion miles on it. Prolly 500k. 4 cyl gas 2.4.

One correction to your post. The T6 is not a hydrocracked group 3. It is a GTL group 3. For those that don't know, GTL stands for Gas To Liquid. It is made from natural gas, not crude oil. The base stock before any additives are added is 100% pure.

I have a 4g 6.7 Cummins and have run Amsoil All-In-one. I think it helps. I think the Repair Geek’s video makes me want to try Opti Lube XPD. I haven’t tried it yet though. Lubricity, cleaning injectors, and cetane increases are all good (if the products actually work)

It made everyone want to try it. Good luck finding any. I put in an order and was given a 2 week waiting period before they get any back in stock. Picked up a bottle of Archoil to get me by until then.

Looking at buying one from a truck driver who did HotShot services. 900k kms, rebuilt transmission, injectors recently serviced and a whole bunch of other maintenance. Original owner too. He is asking $15k Cad, is that too much? The truck itself is an 04 2500, it’s in really good shape too.

I have been using XPD Opti Lube in my 05 Cummins for the past 3 years and I think it runs much smoother when towing heavy loads! But any fuel additive is better than none for sure. Great video!👍

I ran klotz 2 stroke oil in my 12v and 24v. I contacted klotz and they told me a better option for fuel lube is to run klotz uplon in my cummins.

I found my 05 5.9 runs smoother on Redline 85 Plus. It has high lubricity and a cetane boost. The fuel additives will save your fuel pump.

I drive a semi for a living, put the whole 250 gallon treat bottle in with the truck holding 200 gallons, this stuff use to be awsome, u could put it in the tank and immediately the engine would quit surging, now when i use it, it keeps surging, and really cant tell a difference in the fuel or power..idk if the changed the formula or diesel has gotten worse!

You wouldn’t happen to have a monitor like edge CTS plugged in your obdII port would you. If you do try unplugging that and see if it still goes crazy.

I would use their ultra performance or the one below that they should discontinue all the ones except for their two best and that includes their full synthetic gasoline engine oils

I went from seeing a small wet circle on the driveway, to what is that, can I fix it... then watched this video, drove to O'Reilly 's and changed out the part in just under 2 hrs. Wow, the vise grip idea... having the part number for us...just awesome. It's 20 degrees here, looks like your video, except with snow mix... I laid on a semi warm engine and got it done! Can you tell, I'm happy! Thanks for a great video!

I dont understand why you're comparing viscocity as long as they all measure within spec (which they do). If lower means better (which is doesnt), buy 5w30. At opperating temp, these oils are all rated and measure to the same spec. If you measured them cold, the 5w40 would measure different. Also, additives may be a selling point, but also, the selling point of synthetic is not that they have more additives, it's that they last longer. Not saying oil life means theyre better, just suggesting that the oil life of synthetics mkes their price more comparable per mile driven.
@kellyheikel625114 күн бұрын
If you live in any climate where the temp varies or you idle or drive around town lots Use T6 full sy. change oil at 5000 miles.Talking about small 6.7 engines DSL.Another one if you live in cold Canada you pay 100000 for a new pickup for god sake put a S bar heater on your engine 2400 dollars When you start your engine 150 degree F water temp even the oil and metal is warm.Cant believe in cold Canada ever one with a DSL engine dont have one.When 75 percent engine damage is cold start.Change your air filter spring and fall.Save your self alot of problems if you own a 6.7.Going to put a DSL interior in next cut ID time.Plus dog will stay warm in winter.

Ive owned a 96 12v, a 94 24v 59 and now Also own an 08 6.7 which was deleted when warranty ran out but it's only had the dpf filter not def.. 6.7 will out perform the 5.9 and not much difference in design.. I love the exhaust brake and prefer a vgt turbo but I'm not out here trying to make a race truck either

Really like the discussion format, I feel like it lets you drop some nuggets of wisdom you would’ve otherwise missed. Like you’re kind of thinking on the fly and new ideas become more apparent as you’re thinking through your dialogue. I am in need of a one ton dialog for the weed control and fertilization side of lawn care business. I think I’m just buying an old Cummins ram and rebuilding it for longevity. I’m going to try and find one with low miles so I can avoid repairing all the normal stuff on a 300k mile plus truck unless it’s been meticulously maintained and documented. All the new stuff terrifies me to have to pay another shop a fortune to work on, never mind how expensive they are. Appreciate all your time and wisdom sir!

Being a full synthetic, the T6 probably doesn't need as many additives. And being a full synthetic the T6 probably will last longer than the others (higher TBN). The Boron, Phosphorous & Zinc are probably close enough to call them analysis deviations.
