Humans can pack-bond with anything and that bond makes you part of our family.

The "Something is not right... I don't know what but something is wrong" sense has saved uncountable lives from combat soldiers to small children and hopefully it is a skill we will always have.

The Human perspective is very different, being kidnapped, suffocated unconscious, suffering unwanted medial experiments before creating a possible escape strategy. Fighting your way out of the prison and through the ship, searching for an escape craft but it takes so long you need to sleep even in the enemy stronghold, no food, no water, torturous environmental changes just looking for a way out. Finally finding escape craft only to be denied, shut out and have the ship explode with you in it! If Earth finds out what they did to that poor guy may the Gods help them because no one else can!

If humanity turns out to be as tough and strong, compared to other races, as we appear to be in these stories, then I know how humanity will make their fortune in the galaxy. Insurance. As in, "Hey Buddy, nice planet you have here! It'd be a shame if something bad happened to it, right?"
