Thanks for your comment on Facebook. Would this be a good machine for me as a beginner? I have no idea how a knitting machine works, but the idea is being able to do Stocking stitch, maybe ribbing , and use punch cards sounds like it would be perfect for what I want to do. Also, different yarn weights - 8ply and 4ply being my favourite..?

I’ve had nothing but trouble since I got my singer 321 knitting machine I’m working on replacing the needles at the moment but only now am I realising I don’t have the weaving brushes for the sinker plate I have managed to start knitting on my machine it’s when I get to a certain amount of rows that it has issues, is that because I don’t have the weaving brushes?
@susanglaus4312
@susanglaus4312 6 ай бұрын
The weaving brushes are just to cast on easily and then they need to be removed to carry on knitting. There could be many issues as to why you are having issues. Make sure your carriage is well oiled and all the parts moving properly. Maybe you need to put weights on your garment? Check needle latches are oiled. Is your mast tension or carriage tension okay? A number of things that can go wrong :)

@@susanglaus4312 I actually got a set of 50 needles to make sure it wasn’t the needles the problem is that they actually seem to be working much better now with those specific needles. however though I tried and thought they were the same needles they are not the same needles as were already on my machine in the begin. the butts on them are higher and the carriage makes a louder sound when it goes over them but other wise it goes over them smoothly, this has confused me as I now don’t know if I should be getting more of the new ones or trying to find the old ones? My machine is a singer memo-matic 321 would you know were I can buy the wright needles?

The problem is the Garter Carriage manual gives you directions for the 950, not the 950i, the machines work differently. The book is telling you to enter the card reading mode, to get a plain row for casting on, which on the 950 is 901, on the 950i, however, it is 777. On 950, programme your pattern in you are going to knit with the garter carriage and when you have the ready light, enter 901, then you can do your garter carriage automatic cast on. After cast on, press CR and CF and continue knitting in your pattern. On the 950i, the procedure is the same, however, enter 777 instead of 901. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for posting this video and sharing the link to the files! I got a 3d printer specifically for the passap DM80 a year ago and have been able to tinker around. I wanted to make a reflective dog sweater, but the instructions indicated plating and I couldn't find any old pieces for it. Thank you soooo much!

Whereabouts are you in the world? You can purchase a set of 20 cards from China for around AUD$25 or if you have an electronic craft cutter you can cut your own. I use a Brother scan and cut machine, but you can use a Silhoutte or Cricut machine. There is info on KZbin how to do that and a Facebook group I have uploaded files you use with your cutting machine. Website AliExpress. Check it out! I just watched a man's cone winder made from odds and ends (he didn't share his build journey as he didn't record it) and saw where he used about 1" of a fluffy paint roller. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqjaeJyDpNKnmMUsi=CWNq-b5P1__txTGp) So perhaps 1.5-2" of a roller cut on the wrap line so it can overlap. Wrap the winder pin, rubber band, then jam on your toilet paper roll or cone, so the wrapped yarn can be removed and one isn't printing a lot of tubes/cones that must stay inside a particular color. From another video winding onto a Royal conewinder (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZDQhYSoaa1omtksi=Of1yOyB1Dd9TI_1p) She reuses tapered yogurt cups, where she has cut the bottom with an "X"; use a touch of rubber shelf liner on the winder stem, then jam the yougurt cup onto the stem. This may also be another possibility to hold your empty cones onto a different size stem, again with thr ruber bands or rubber shelf liner between to keep the final layer to stay steady on the stem. I did notice you used a nylon to hold yarn on the cone and keep it dust free. Great idea. I keep all the net fruit and turkey breast wraps to wrap my yarn, then plastic bread tags to keep the net from opening. Thanks for showing the options and asking questions.
