Great video. I don't use weights with the garter carriage and have never had a problem. Garter carriages are wonderful!

The problem is the Garter Carriage manual gives you directions for the 950, not the 950i, the machines work differently. The book is telling you to enter the card reading mode, to get a plain row for casting on, which on the 950 is 901, on the 950i, however, it is 777. On 950, programme your pattern in you are going to knit with the garter carriage and when you have the ready light, enter 901, then you can do your garter carriage automatic cast on. After cast on, press CR and CF and continue knitting in your pattern. On the 950i, the procedure is the same, however, enter 777 instead of 901. Hope this helps.

Hi. I've had my G Carriage 95 since 1986. Sad to say I changed the needles on the knitting machine and was pleased. When I tried my G carriage it got jammed. Probably there was a problem with the new needle. The carriage got JAMMED and had to gently push the needles back to release the carriage. I removed the machine and checked the underside. Horror the "SINKER PLATE" was out of 3 slots. I fixed it but the plate kept falling off and jamming the needles. I removed all the NEW NEEDLES and replaced the originals. Even my normal knitting was horrible just loops. MY QUESTION IS ... HOW CAN I REPLACE THIS PLATE for the G95 or WHERE CAN I PURCHASE THIS? Any advise will be grately appreciated. Thanks for your help. 💕
