thanks for posting the comment. So far, its is not come back for me... but but if it does, I would suggest you to please take off the button completely and then do cleaning - I found that black button can be taken off by someone commenting on my video. give that a try.

Will try this thanks. Seeing so many people having this issue with Ctek chargers one would think they would have sorted out this issue. The chargers are not cheap.

Bummer, that ticking sound is for sure not normal. I have a 2006 C4S as well. Owned 14 years and 95k miles. She still purrs, no ticking sounds. What was your diagnosis, what climate do you live in and how many miles?

How much is the estimate to resleeve it?

quite a bit lol. whole engine needs to be taken apart to reach the inside. some parts won't be reusable once putting the car back together and they have to be reordered. Sleeving alone can cost north of US$6k + labour and parts. in the end you might be looking at US$20k+

It’s scoring on 4, 5, 6 cylinder. It needs to be re-sleeved.

to be honest.. not sure.. I don't see a problem.. but I hear people on forums that people usually get the same color airbag and just get the ring painted. if you end up getting the air bag painted, please let me know and share results.

Great tip and guide, but I just want to save other people the trouble if possible. I had a theory of just bringing my charger up to the heated indoors as often bad contact can appear due to weather or moisture. And it fixed my button just having it indoors for a few hours. Long term I still might have to do the fix though, so still appreciated.

This really did the trick with my CTEK also, thanks! I used CRC 5-56 on mine, as I didn't have much other choices available. I actually managed to flip the board with only the other cable (wall plug) twisted out from the casing. It popped out without any tools/force, nice and easy. There was plenty of excess wires inside, to carefully make the turn even the other end was still attached to the case. Added some spray on the switch (with the black hat removed) and just clicked the heck out of it 😂
