Hihi, for first-time tourist, you will need to go through the face-to-face counter with the immigration officer. You must fill in the arrival card. They might ask questions regarding your itinerary and return tickets. Photo and fingerprints will be taken as well. Passport will be stamped. The e-channel is only open to those who have registered their fingerprints with China immigration before.
The cost is about 200-250 CNY if you take a taxi, and it takes about an hour to get to People’s Square in smooth traffic.

Berry Scones Adapted from "The Complete Baking Book for Young Chefs" by America's Test Kitchen -------------------- Ingredients: 200g all-purpose flour 85g unsalted butter, chilled, cut into pieces 2 tbsp sugar 1½ tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt 100ml whole milk 1 large egg yolk 120g frozen mixed berries 1 tbsp icing sugar -------------------- 1. Preheat oven to 220°C. Line rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Place flour, chilled butter, sugar, baking powder, and salt in food processor. Lock lid in place. Hold down pulse button for 1 second, then release. Repeat until butter forms pea-size pieces, six to eight 1-second pulses. 3. Remove lid and carefully remove processor blade (ask an adult for help). 4. Transfer flour mixture to large bowl. 5. In second medium bowl, whisk milk and egg yolk until well combined. 6. Add milk mixture to flour mixture and use rubber spatula to stir until just combined into shaggy dough. Do not overmix. 7. In medium bowl, combine berries and confectioners' sugar. Use rubber spatula to stir to coat berries with confectioners' sugar. Then stir frozen berries into the dough. 8. Sprinkle clean counter lightly with extra flour and coat your hands with flour. Transfer dough to floured counter and shape dough into 8 scones. Use bench scraper (or spatula) to transfer scones to parchment-lined baking sheet. 9. Place baking sheet in oven. Bake until scones are golden brown on top, about 14 minutes. 10. Use oven mitts to remove baking sheet from oven (ask an adult for help). 11. Place baking sheet on cooling rack and let scones cool on baking sheet for 15 minutes. 12. Transfer scones directly to cooling rack. Let cool for 30 minutes before serving.

Thin and Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies Adapted from '100 Cookies' by Sarah Kieffer ---------------------------------------- Ingredients: 280g all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 227g unsalted butter, softened at room temperature 300g granulated sugar 50g brown sugar 2 large eggs 3 tbs water 1 tsp vanilla extract 135g mini chocolate chips ---------------------------------------- 1. Preheat oven to 180°C. 2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. 3, In a stand mixer, beat butter on medium speed for 1 minute until creamy. 4. Add both sugars to butter and beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy. 5. Add eggs, water and vanilla extract and mix on low speed for 1 minute. 6. Add flour mixture and mix on low speed for 1 minute until combined. 7. Add chocolate chips to batter and mix for 20 seconds on low speed. Use a spatula to stir to make sure everything is well-mixed. 8. On a lined baking pan, make dough balls of about 1 tablespoon in size. Space them well-apart. Bake at 180°C for 15-17 minutes until light golden brown. 9. Let cookies cool on the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to wire rack to finish cooling. Once completely cooled, store the cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.

Agree! To be fair, we found that it performs well (maybe already under 30s) in optimal conditions - well-defined lots, good lighting, no obstacles etc. Our basement carpark is cramped and dimly lit, so it was a real challenge. Plus safety is always top priority for AI driving, so totally understandable that it took so long here.
