Music Elliot always had my all time favorite dancing in her videos. People just let loose like it was no body’s business. And I always loved how she would drop the beat and switch up the song. She was just so creative!

Growing up, i didnt have a radio or cable. But on the tv antenna, it would always get MTV. This song would always come on in the morning or anytime i turn on the TV. That was so long ago. So nostalgic listening to it.

missy videos are always visually striking. they take a lot of risks and draw on a lot of references, which i love. the stylistic choices in this one are great - it's not the only time we've seen women as literal objects in music videos, but it looks like the dance scenes were recorded with the music at half time, and the footage was sped up after. the result was the dancers making very jerky, alien movements. at a glance, this is a very literal commentary: the act of objectification distances the object from personhood. but paired with the visuals of these "dolls" making creepy, broken movements and the lyrics about betrayal, abandonment, and inadequacy, the picture gets a little more complex, and a lot sadder. she's objectifying _herself_ in an attempt to keep up with the women being objectified, and it's _still_ not enough. he loses interest with these other dolls too, and looks past them to find even dollier dolls behind the box. so the problem is with him, right? or is it? why would all these dolls be here if it was just the one guy?
