I know that tiny crumbs have gotten in my carpet or couch. I wake up one morning sadly to my carpet chewed up in places. Before anyone says im cruel, i had my accident 3 years ago. I should've known better to leave Philadelphia cream onion and chive uncovered even for a few seconds. My cat licked a little bit for a few seconds. The cream cheese was still a little cold not so soft and creamy. I read the label on the product. It says it has dried onions and chives besides other ingredients. When onion and chive are dried, are they less potent? I did call the Animal poison control by the ASPC I was disappointed they charge so I was not able to get the help I needed for my cat i don't have enough money now. She told me all they would help me with is to tell me to look out for symptoms only if I paid. She never mentioned about helping me to know about her weight and determined from there even if I paid her.. All i did is to give her a little bit of her dry food with water; my kitty ate and drank all the water and I said a prayer for my baby that in 2 to 5 days of keeping an eye on her she will not have any negative affect. There use to be where you can call at all hours the poison control holine even for Animals, and there was never a charge. They really did care for your animals and helped them. Monday August 5th I will call her vet and let her know what happened and she will let me know if her licking for few seconds some of the Philadelphia cream cheese with onion and chives will affect her or not, and what I can do for my cat. Can you give me some advice on this please, I'm really concerned for my cat. 😔

So backwards forward the fluid is backing up (into the lungs, etc. -often caused by leaky heart valves, etc.) Forwards failure: the pump is struggling to push blood out of the heart (often weak/dilated heart muscles).

Sadly for those who work in animal care the healthcare is not advance as it should be. That is down to us as a society valuing "animal" life as less worthy than our own when we are nothing more than another species of animal. When you end suffering you are helping both your patients, the pet and the human, more than you will ever realise so thank you so much for being there for us going through that horrific experience. Pet insurance exists for a reason. People insure your pets for their sake sod yours. Vet staff do not want to euthanise any animal even if it outside of their area they are devastated doing it. It is the area of last resort to them. The problem is the cost of "adoption". I live on the 10th, 11th US, floor of a tower block, so I only wanted to adopt FIV+ (the cat version of HIV but more easily spread) or those that no one wanted to adopt because they were missing bits. I aid no when they said the cost for healthy kitten was the same as that for an "unadoptable" cat. I could easily get a "perfect" kitty for free, but that is not what I want now. I want to give the unadoptable a furever home. If you are obsessed with getting a pedigree then pets are not for you.
@TwinTreesVet4 ай бұрын
There is a lot to unpack in this comment, but you thoughtfully address a lot of important points. It is true that in our society, pets are a consumer commodity- something that is manufactured, bought, sold, and ultimately disposed of on an absolutely massive scale. If there were more checkpoints in place (drivers have to take a class, have insurance, pass a test, etc. before they can drive a car; car manufacturers must meet certain standards too), so much unnecessary pet suffering and death could be prevented. I don’t know who gave this comment a thumbs down but I assume it must have been a typo when they were scrolling. Big ❤️ from me. -Dr. Lopez
@Dermacrosis4 ай бұрын
@@TwinTreesVet That is one of the problems sadly, we see pets as property. Even the law where I live does. I am now a convicted criminal as a thief because I took a cat to my vet to get her help. My mum and my friends paid the fine, but it shows how much we value other life forms. The other unfortunate thing is the checks for adopting a pet. I have been petless for a long time now, I needed time to process and pass through the grief of putting my last cat down. I have been petless now for so long because the charities I have gone to to adopt a purrball wanted the same "donation" for a healthy kitten as the wanted for an FIV+ cat, a disabled cat. Though they called it a "donation" it was a purchase price and so I can not offer a loving furever home to cats no one else wants to adopt.

@@TwinTreesVet Well I am going to say it wasn't my who gave the 👎 In my country they do have to do all tat, car or motorcycle riders, However cyclists,and even scooters don't. Maybe you could do a video about pet owned people, and we are the owned not the pets, telling them never to leave their pet alone at the time it is needed. I have held all but the first cat I have had to put down. In that case I was so shocked I did what I was told. After that I was "bugger off vet nurse I am holding them until the end as I owe them that much for all the love and joy they gave me" the nurse was not offended and just walked out of the room with a smile on her face.
@Dermacrosis4 ай бұрын
The only truth about this painful time in a pet owned human life is you must never, and I mean NEVER, leave them alone. Hold them at the time as it reduces their stress and pain. Never leave them alone at the time that they need you the most. It is rare that we mere mortals do that to the point my vet was surprised when I held my cat and told the nurse to go away. She was there for me through difficult times so she deserves me to be there for her,

How do shelter workers have heart to euthanize perfectly healthy animals? It makes no sense. 2 million per year? That is absolutely ridiculous!
@TwinTreesVet5 ай бұрын
@sarasrandomz They don’t. In fact, being on the receiving end of society’s unwanted and discarded pets, and then being forced to dispose of the overstock… it’s actually killing animal shelter workers. Suicide rates Amin shelter workers is consistently one of the highest among all professions. I’ll have to give a full answer in a separate video, but it comes down to pets being a consumer commodity (manufactured, bought, sold and ultimately disposed of) in a world of fast fashion (unconscious consumerism) combined with a complete lack of oversight and regulation of pet ownership/ breeding. First off if you think this is sick then why would you watch it ? To think people would get offended by something where it says clearly no dogs were hurt. I live with chronic pain and I'm disabled. I have a German Shepherd that I love more than life. Maverick which is my German Shepard had somehow sniffed out one of my prescribed medications. I rushed him to the vet. Luckily he is was ok, however if you think this next part is a joke and your biased then this is where you need to please stop reading... I have to keep a particular medication completely away from him. A few weeks ago I found him taking the bottle out of my medication bag. I think he honestly now had wants more be a use he liked it. German Shepherds are incredibly intelligent. I find it ironic how he tries to get into the same medication which is highly addictive. I was researching if dogs can be one addicted not by something they are prescribed but by their own conscious descions. If you can't handle that then I'm sorry you are so sensitive. Even if the channel wassce to be a joke it gavee laugh and to know all the dogs were ok made it more amusing. if the channel showed any dogs that passed I wouldn't have watched it but as I said I'm in chronic pain and sir on a couch 99 percent of the day, be grateful none of you have to hope you can find something to smile over and laugh over when you wake up feeling dead inside everyday. I'm grateful for any time I can smile. Also I would never smile over someone else's misery or an animals misey. I really hope none of of you ever have to wake up every day in so much pain you have to ask a neighbor to please feed your own pet because some days pain is so bad I can't move. Now if you want to say a smartass comment remember the part above where I asked you to stop reading ?? Think about who is the plebian now

I just adopted a puppy 2 weeks ago today and he is a small breed and small puppy King Charles Cavalier spaniel mix with a Bichon Frize and I have 3 roommates living in my house with me, One guy and two girls and though My one roommate and I use washable fabric pads and menstrual cups for our moon time Since she is indigenous, and I am Irish And we are both working to decolonize ourselves into more natural ways of being that our ancestors lost in the genocides of our peoples .. blah blah blah lol Basically, our one female roommate is very conventional and she uses normal probably bleach, cotton, toxic tampons, and yes my new puppy found it And gobbled it up without me, even knowing he was in the garbage at all and This morning he acted like he was going to puke up a hairball like my cat has been doing lately, so I said him on the floor and off of my bed and he vomited something I didn’t recognize and after staring at it for a while and Realizing it looked like a penis and Thinking it was a giant piece of undigested chicken thinking one of my roommates, fed him a big chunk the day before because he puked it up with a piece of sweet potato that I had given him the night before, which was still fully intact.. I started, wondering if that’s why he was feeling sluggish and slow yesterday and acting tired.. Maybe one of my roommates fed him a giant piece of chicken, which seemed to still have the rotisserie binding rope on it.. Stared at it, wondering why it looked like a penis I couldn’t understand what this could possibly be as I felt his stomach could at least digest chicken overtime. Just not the string that’s left on the rotisserie. Birds To tie up the legs and wings from splaying .. so I grabbed paper towel to dissect it, and then I suddenly realized .. It was indeed a tampon from one of my roommates.. I was so grateful that he vomited it up because when I talk to my mom later, she told me that dogs can die from this and I would’ve had no idea what was wrong with him. I’m also on ODSP so vet bills are Not an option.. Especially because he’s not yet trained as my therapy dog.. But even if he was, there would only be about $85 per month to help with his basic needs and the Covered veterinary clinics for people on disability in Ontario only happens once a month.. So what would’ve been 3 weeks before we could sign up for a vet visit..
