Why the sirens? Are you having a nuclear strike there, or what? Cute little bike. It could fit in any elevator. By the way, if you don't mind all muscle powered bikes, you might give Brompton a try. These little folding bikes are iconic. The sight of a Selectric always brings me joy!
@RinoaL10 сағат бұрын
For some reason they've begun using that siren for every time the fire fighters get called, and a few other things. And with our large population of babyboomers who don't know anything about the world, they get called out about 10 times a day for stupid shit. We had the fire crew called to our apartment building every single day for four days in a row because the maintenance guys put a deoderant in the basement to scare away mice. The old people in the building thought it "smelled like gas" but it clearly doesnt. We also have another issue of a large elderly population accidentally causing fires a LOT around here now.

That is nice, if only batteries are allowed on the plane, then you can take it all over the world traveling cities, and won't be wired to take that into hotel to charge.
@RinoaL9 сағат бұрын
I dont think this would be good for a plane. It might be good for a train though. Id say planes shouldnt carry bicycles though, itd be better to rent one when you land
@keithfirst9 сағат бұрын
@@RinoaL Why is that? renting is not everywhere around the world. as well it spends more money and you have to return it. Plus bringing your bike rise the decency of travel by all custom options.
@RinoaL9 сағат бұрын
Because moving a heavy bicycle on a plane is a waste of fuel. Planes are already a bad travel method as it is. Any place that has an airport should have ebikes, and the economic cost of spending fuel and space to fly an ebike is far more than having a duplicate ebike at the destination and sharing it amongst users. I think you dont understand how poorly efficient air travel is. It is just a temporary technology until a country builds rail and sea transport, but places like the US got comfortable not continuing to improve
@keithfirst8 сағат бұрын
@@RinoaL I think you do not understand how heavy a plane already is, and adding another 30-40bs per bike means nothing, just 1/4 to 1/3 weight of someone healthy, and not evreryone is going to need to carry. Bikes are not only allowed on plane, also free to carry. I do not think plane is temporary considering the fact that its practical despite the fuel it burns. what US should do is to get ride of their second CARS! too lazy and too fat! if US one day can have fast train network, that day bikes can be made 10lbs. Still care about its weight?
@RinoaL7 сағат бұрын
And I think you dont understand that we wouldnt be speaking of a single person, we would be speaking of many people per flight. This bike is closer to 60lb btw. So thats 60lb added to maybe 1/4 of the passengers. That would probably mean you could fly 7/8ths as many passengers, and airlines are already failing to make money with their current fares. So it just wouldnt work in this situation to let everybody do it. youd probably have to pay $100 just to bring your bike

That first toner cartridge may have put out all black pages because of a stiffened silicone wiper blade not doing its job of cleaning the OPC anymore or the drum ground connection went bad (corrosion?). I am surprised it didn't jam. Every one of those I have seen since 2016 had to have transport rollers replaced because they transformed into jelly/tar balls. Anyway, shaking a toner cartridge to redistribute and declump the toner dust is always a good idea. But the OPC (drum) is not forever. It may loose its sensitivity with time. It can develop defects like cracks. Sometimes it is better to buy recently made third party toner cartridge, than OEM from quarter of a century ago. As a printer tech - I get that those older printers have an undeniable charm. But there are really decent ones made well after 2004. Personally I like LJ 1018/1020/1606 , P1102, 1536dnf, more high volume 4350, M602dn... None of those need a registration or Internet connection. The P1102 even has Windows driver in its own memory that shows as a read only drive when you connect it via USB (and this feature can be disabled if you want to). And they all work great with cheap third party cartidges. And there are other printer companies. Ricoh for example made sturdy MP171 and MP201 models. Small, but made like a scaled down version of a big office photocopier.

@RinoaL2 күн бұрын
Well Id presume they shouldnt be in a place with dirt tbh
@HainjeDAF2 күн бұрын
@RinoaL the problem is that the printer is fully open from the top side so dust and dirt will always fall in. Hence nowadays almost all printers do horizontal loading and unloading of paper to stop dirt ingress. No matter how clean your workspace is, common household dust will settle anywhere.

My hypothesis for the "vibration" is underextrusion. I think what is happening is that the hotend can't keep up with the demanded flow rate. Note that the side which comes after a shallow corner is worse than the side which comes after a sharp corner. To print the sharp corner it has to slow down more, which gives the plastic in the hotend and the hotend inner walls more time to heat up in preparation for the fast move. It should be easy to find out, right? Find a print which does it and print two with everything identical except one of them hotter. If it is bearings as grendel1960a suggests, both will be the same. If it is hotend limit, the hotter one will be better.
@RinoaL2 күн бұрын
I printed the two halves with different flow rates, and found the one with the lower flow rate was worse. Does that bring any data?

@@RinoaL Hmm, yeah, that doesn't seem to fit does it.
@RinoaL2 күн бұрын
@@jessicav2031 It does seem to be that the hot end is actually grinding against the plastic, which makes me think it could be resonant but also extrusion. Sadly because I don't want to make a lot of plastic waste, I try to avoid printing a lot of tests.

@@OG-RetrogamesHR I know, I've worked in silicon valley. What I'm expressing is that I don't really have the money to waste on a new PSU, and the power usage was low enough on the power rails to be fine for a while. Sadly FFXIV updated and took more graphical power. Previously my entire computer was only taking about 250 watts, and I just kept planet crafter on the lowest graphics to do the same. However I recently upgraded to a 4k monitor and ffxiv upgraded making the power requirements higher. Now it's difficult to run my games without pulling 350W from the rails, and this PSU overly prioritizes the 5v and 3.3v rails which don't get used at all.

that rippling / vibration I have had similar when a printer was in need of lubrication on the slides- not a lot of lubrication, but if the rods are dry they seem to snag in the bearings I have a small tuube of inkjet printer oil, which is used to circumvent the siilar issue in large format inket printers as you gget the same effect on a print if the slide rods are not lubricated (especially when they ger contaminated with dry ink residue) so the issue may be caused by the rods and slide bearings wobbling at the higher speeds and needing some lubrication to sort them out. in a large format inkjet it can also be caused by the ribbon cable rubbing against itself as it moves, a tiny bit of friction causing a harmonic resonance.
@RinoaL3 күн бұрын
That's a good suggestion. thanks.
@SawdustSoftwareSiliconChippy3 күн бұрын
Yeah, I can imagine that. Also, could step-motor and/or with other components, be resonating? 🤔. It’s a known phenomenon/problem. Could the higher speed be operating at a harmonic frequency? Only a high-speed camera, will show the cause(s). As you mentioned, the case/mechanism lacks rigidity, and could be a contributing factor. On a similar note, another maker bought an old CNC lathe (with automatic tool-changer, and all the bells and whistles of a professional production machine), to rebuild in the home workshop. About 1/2 of the machine’s mass, is sand! The same stuff found at the beach! While I’m not suggesting filling the FlashForge with sand, something else (cheap carbon steel bearing spheres) to fill the case’s voids, could be an option. 🤔
