Sir this video is pure gold. I bought a used FX Maverick .25 Sniper with STX Slug Liner, Optisan Optics EVX 6-24×50, 3 magazines, extra 500mm barrel kit barrel kit and Donny FL Fatboy1.0 moderator, oh and I had a carbon liner added for free. All for $2100. I think that a FX slug power kit is probably installed as well. But I will get that confirmed. For pellets I will tune the 500mm barrel. It’s genius actually because whomever owned the air rifle before me considered both slugs for long range and pellets 100 yards and under.

I don’t normally watch long airgun reviews but I just did and enjoyed every minute of it. Admittedly I’m considering this little gun as my next purchase in cylinder or bottle format but I know longer have any questions to ask, only a decision to make - cylinder or bottle? Brilliant stuff as always Steve. 🇺🇸🇬🇧

Big thank you for a great instructional video, exceptionally helpfull. Just a querry with regards Internal Hammer Spring setting - how do you determine 0 point? How do you determine the max/ min setting? I take counter clockwise increases the tension- FPS.

My Atomic XR .22 didn't come with any washer nor any of the two hammer spring adjuster that you discussed. Are those supposed to be included? I got mine at Central Florida Airguns which obviously gets them from AOA distribution side.

Excellent review as always however, a couple of critical features are worth mentioning? I own both the AA TX200HC and the HW97K in blue laminate in .177 caliber. Both are stellar guns but here are two critical differences between the two: Firstly, the TX200's barrel is mounted in the center axis of the gun while the HW97K's barrel is mounted ABOVE its center axis. Why is this important to mention? Well, I've found that loading as small a pellet as the .177 in the TX200 is far more difficult because of the barrel's center axis design....you have to reach deeper into the sliding breech housing to place the pellet into the breech. Because of the HW97K's barrel being mounted above the centerline, it is sooo much easier to load a .177 pellet, especially those slippery ones into the breech because you don't have to reach in as deep as the TX200 to load it into the breach. Secondly, the TX200 is normally a right -hand specific airgun and the machined, cut-out access to the breech has a restricted opening, biased to the right-handed shooter. I understand this is still the case despite ordering the left-hand stock version? This is not the case with the HW97K where its ambidextrous design has a generous cut-out to facilitate both left-handed as well as right-handed loading. Bottom line is, the HW97K is sooo much easier to load in .177 than the TX200. Note that this loading difficulty does not apply to the TX200 in .22 caliber (which is easy to load due to the larger, .22 caliber pellet and corresponding, bigger breech).

Hi Steve. I see you offered pellet holders. For all my single shot spring, pump, pcp I get a Air venturi pellet pen, slot a 9id/10od CF tube fit it to the pen slight trim light dab of adhesive and glue to the gun were the breach meets the stock. Then you have a magazine. Hold the stock use your hand to pop a pellet into the hand holding the stock. It is a beautiful way to keep pellets with the gun and quick follow-up shots. Thanks for the video. Really informative for a guy who just ordered a HW 97. From AoA.

I’ve had mine for about 13 years and still shoots just as good or better than the day I bought it. I did have it custom tuned by Paul Watts down in Tennessee. He told me it wasn’t necessary but he could make it a bit better so I sent it and I’m so glad I did. It shot even better. It was smoother. Everything went click and clack right in place. SO SMOOTH. You should check out Paul Watts page. It’s just called spring gun tuning.

Great video and learned about tuning. But in the end, I returned the Avenger back to Pyramid due to being too long, way too heavy and a bad case of regulator creep. It actually weighed more than my Colt LE 6940 M4! Bought a Diana StormRider. which is 1.75 lbs lighter and 4" shorter. No more regulator creep either, lol.

Thanks for your videos, I've been watching lots of them. Question please... I want a .22 pellet gun for hunting and it cannot have an noise suppression so I'm considering this one and the Diana 34. So, I might hunt in "cold" weather and hear the spring pistons are not as good in the cold. Does the accuracy I'd setup in the fall be moot in weather much colder and what is considered "cold" for these. There are not a lot of quality gas pistons out there I'm finding (if you know a bunch, PLEASE share). The $400 is OK with me if I find the right rifle. THANK YOU!

Hi. I would sight in in a temperature that's similar to what you'll be hunting in. Indeed your point of impact will change as the weather does. I like coil spring better than gas piston for the reasons you mentioned. I also feel like they last better through the years. Steve

Just saw your tuning video after buying an Avenger. Thanks! Really like the Avenger except for the fact it suffers (like others) of regulator creep. Using a pro tune of 1800 psi, it creeps up to 2,200 psi after a few hours. Yes, you can dry fire it a few times to bring it down, but kinda defeats the purpose when your hunting and making noise on the hunt having to dry fire.

Weihrauch should really stop using flathead screws. That's the main thing I really hate about them. All their screws should have hex heads at this point.
