They shouldn't fall into the trappings of a large corporation such as Sony. Monopolies that are built up tend to not last too long, especially when the general public sees poor returns on their own personal investment of their own money. Japan has been known to be poor at business given on the fact that their economic Bubble Burst this could be the same thing for anime we get poor and poor amounts of low quality of anime with lazy plots an unrelatable characters. FUNimation should not have fallen it was our Western territory within the anime community we got decent dubs merch and other related material yet is now been absorbed by Sony who also absorb Crunchyroll but made Crunchyroll as the main front for Sony's anime industry while also deleting a large portion of the library of Funimation including the dub animes that are geared towards the West clear sign and evidence that they're going to nitpick on what they want to be dubbed or subbed and most likely will never ever dub only because Japan doesn't dub things that fails in their region but could succeed in The West. Again, I'm probably just preaching to the choir. It's not like I haven't seen the rise and fall of many companies in the last 30 years of my life. When mergers happen and prices increase and decrease when the company fails, it's because the CEO or the board of directors fails to realize what they have done. If Sony buys anime, it dies, and it will never come back. That is my prophecy.

It's because of a lot of weird tropes, combined with the types people associated with being anime fans. Whether it's fair or not, people see the poorly groomed, low hygiene, anti-social, incel type associated with anime. They've seen the memes and either watched or walked in on an anime discussing a kid wanting to bang their sister. They've seen anime fetishize middle school kids, show weird upskirt shots unnecessarily crammed into serious scenes, and they see the harems of girls obsessed over a bland, genetic MC. Or they see all the isekai tropes, the "saving girls from a random r*pists," the "buy a slave girl but treat her nicely so she throws herself at me" plot point, and then associate these things with dudes who buy body pillows, have anime girl pfps, and make anime their entire personality 😂 I know it's not fair or accurate to judge anime or anime fans like this, but so many anime fit these tropes, as do many anime fans. We all like to think we're not the ones like that, or we don't like those weird aspects of anime, but then you see them pop up even in the most mainstream series & realize it's just inescapable.

My belief is that the anime industry is inherently broken in how they determine what anime gets made & why they get made. For Berserk to truly succeed, we need a studio to COMMIT to a longterm production & real vision for adapting the series. It can't be "let's just play this conervatively, invest a small budget, then release a 12 episode season & wait to see how Blu-rays sell..." They have to commit to multiple seasons, be faithful to the manga, and give it a real budget.

Kaguya coming out of nowhere with zero foreshadowing or buildup or hints or ANYTHING sullied the entire Naruto franchise for me. Naruto is dead to me. I don’t even rewatch it. The entire thing is pointless. I’m happy for you that a horrible destination doesn’t ruin the journey for you but in the case of Naruto I fully disagree.

I like longer anime, but only if it feels like there's a point to it all. Even though I've watched 1,070 episodes of One Piece, it doesn't feel like there's a point to it beyond milking things for as long as possible. Series is popular, therefore keep pumping out more content. Yes, the pacing is horrendous, but even then the story could've been more concise & still been great. On the other hand, I don't necessarily prefer shorter anime either. I like stories with a clear direction and end goal in mind. That's why I hate that the anime industry is obsessed with one-off 12 episode shows, only to quickly ditch them & start up a dozen others. "But it's to sell manga!" - Yeah, and that's an outdated method driving this medium. Streaming services are starved for content & looking for anything that draws interest. Anime is too awesome a medium to be used as simply an advertisement to sell manga... The TV show industry has existed based on its own merit for a decades. Shows were successful & profitable based on their own merits. Anime is only growing more & more popular, so to neglect that in favor of just manga is ridiculous. I'd much prefer less seasonal one-off, generic, power fantasy, overly wordy titled, isekai harems and more continuations of significantly better series.

6:00 The thing is, a lot of mangas get popular due to their anime adaptations. The reason why Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen have sold as much as they do is because their anime adaptations are extremely popular and then get people into buying the manga.

Do you think Shounen anime should be upgraded to Universal anime since its demographic is more and more universal? Just like E for Everyone? (Of course, not all Shounen anime are for kids, I just consider gender distribution.)

I feel like kid friendly anime it more a recent trend that accompanied the big 3. I grew up watching Bebop, Hellsing, GiTS, Trigun, and Rurouni Kenshin, which all had varying levels of dark themes/edge. So for me, this is like nature healing when I see Chainsaw Man.

Shounen will end. Whenever Japan's population is small and their economy is uncertain, the Shounen and Seinen genres merge. We saw this with the original Big 3: *Astro Boy, Gigantor, and Cyborg 009* . Anime will return to that era. Japan was reconstructing after the war and the future was unpredictable, despite slight gains in population and economic growth. New manga like Kagurabachi, Gokurakugai, and Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi, which bridge the gap between Shounen and Seinen, will make up the future Big 3. Since men don't want to "grow up" and no one's having babies anymore, that's the only way to expand the market.

7:23 Yes, silly people who think Shōnen thinks of nothing but your cookie-cutter battle manga junk like Naruto. Shōnen is so much more diverse than that. One of my favourite romance anime - *Teasing Master Takagi-san* - is Shōnen. Shōnen is so much more unique than just battle Shōnen.
