My naval aviator father was awarded the DFC for flying PV-1 missions in 1944. He also was awarded the Air Medal three times for operations in 1942 and again in 1944. I have the medals and the citations along with his wings and four log books.

Only uncle medals it says SN-1196 What do this mean

My grandad earned this medal for his service in Korea

I'm old time and when I ordered my ribbon rack, and finally received it, it was put together very nicely. So I went back to Medals of America and had them build me another one using the Mil-Thin ribbons. Just got it yesterday and it's really awesome. After 32 years since I retired, I've decided to put together a shadow box of my military career. I will be using the Mil-Thin rack I just received for my ribbon display. Thanks Medals of America.

i never got one. i was there in 2003. after i got home i changed commands and i never received mine. how do you go about getting one? i was based out of CAMP 93 and my AO was from nasiria to alkut. feb 2003 - sept 2003

How common is 3 bronze stars with this medal? Mine has 3, which is what everyone else in my unit got. Never gave it much thought, but a few years ago I noticed that 2 stars seem to be what everyone has. My DD214 says 3 stars as well, but that doesn't seem to make sense to me as 3 stars imply 4 awards. I remember it being a LONG deployment, but I didn't think it was THAT long. ?????????

Although not as high ranking as some of my other medals or ribbons, this has always been my personal favorite. Just something about that WWI doughboy charging onto the beach with his Springfield '03 is just so cool. Really surprised I haven't seen this issued more often considering how much activity we've had the last 30+ years. Got mine back in the late '80s during Operations Prairie Fire and Eldorado Canyon when I was 21.

My dad served in the 9th infantry division, in which his unit was the first to depart South Vietnam under Vietnamization. He returned in 1971-1972 serving with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade. He retired in 1997, finishing with U.S.Army Aviation Training Center, Fort Rucker.

I earned two air medals for the missions that I flew in Afghanistan back in 2020. This is definitely my most cherished award ever.

Thanks for featuring this! I was recommended for one in Iraq in 2004. I’m still waiting on it. When MacArthur was USA Chief of Staff, he also authorized the Purple Heart Medal. He was the first to receive that award also.

I am trying to get two shadow boxes created and I want to use your company. I sent an email to the MoA guy who does shadow boxes a month ago. I have yet to hear back from him. If you guys are understaffed, you should let people know that.
