Actually hurrem and kosem both are equally powerful according to their period. The time of hurrem women even can't imagine to talk with politician about any issue but in this hard time hurrem made everything possible. She such a legend. Other side, in the reign of kosem, there were everything free for women. They were able to interfere on empires matter. I ain't mention nurbanu, safiye and turhan because their reign also same as kosem but they were not powerful as kosem but powerful. Kosem used the power properly what hurrem made. So it's fact kosem is more powerful than safiye and nubanu and turhan. But the reason of why I've said hurrem is equally powerful as kosem because of the different circumstances what i described in starting. Hurrem also could be the greatest valide ever if she would have been valide. But it's the fate what Allah has written. But great respect these two strong women as well the rest of the sultanas.😊

Hurrem, Mihrimah, Nurbanu, Safiye, Handan, Halime, Kosëm and Turhan notables Ottomans Haseki and Validé Sultan ( Exception for Mihrimah that acted after the death of her mother as Valide Sultan by interim for the good of the order in the harem ) with Hatice the most powerful Sister of Sultan, Mahidevran, the haseki and valide who never was, Dilruba ( the Ottoman princess who acted as haseki Sultan by interim during her mother tenure ) and Atike ( daughter of Kosem Sultan ) the last powerful Ottoman princess who never was defeated by any haseki or valide of her time.

Theres no historical proof of hurrem killing mustafa or kosem killing her sons. The show is pure fiction created by men to disrespect the worlds strongest queens becuz they couldn't stand them. Sultanas were powerful and earned that power with their own hands, the sultans were cruel who killed their own sons and brothers and blamed everyone else but themselves. Suleiman killed Mustafa out of jealousy, murad died of liver cirrhosis and caged and then killed his brothers sparing only Ibrahim resulting to him being mentally unstable later being killed by janissaries becuz of his tyranny. The sultans were born royalty who created the law of killing brothers for power and wealth, the sultanas were slaves who were forcibly kidnapped as young as 11 years old, who earned their power through brain, beauty, knowledge and cunningness and they did everything to ensure the safety of their children. The male show makers knew and envied that and they created this show to shift the blame on these powerful sultanas. Read real history, don't let this fiction fool u

She ruled...... the darkness of castle brighten and stronger her character but thing that destroyed her was death of her children... made her gone mad and lead her to worst death possible. Only if every mother-in-law instead of comparing and fighting with their daughter-in-law the palace and every house could have become their home .But instead they fight with each other for power not understanding THEY ARE TOGETHER POWER.

Yeah because the men of that era failed ... So women had to .. or because of that they couldn't. But that time empire was established and powerful, also there was no conquest after women startwd ruling. And everything was around throne and power. When there was no involvement of women the empire increased in Everything , there were strict rules. Everything started decling after Suleiman reign. Those who say that empire lasted for hundreds years after his death so look at history the empire before Suleiman reign and after his reign. There were numerous conquests, proper system for everything. After that women ruled over the well established empire coz young, cruel, mad , haram obsessed, weak men were at throne so women saved their authority but eventually empire roots started weakening as there was no proper leader like mehmet 2, beyzait 2, selim 1 everything started revolving around throne, power, treasure, higher rank, women and hence .... Can't believe how it's possible that these women raised sons like thoses sultans , at least men in previous generation had their own brain and ruled the empire hy themselves, their mothers who were not listed in sultanate of women raised them much better than these women

False information,the sultanate of women wasnt good for the empire. Before it started the empire had experienced 10 great leaders in a row. Under the sultanate of women the empire experienced weak leaders that let the women rule,even Kosem is said to not have been able to rule properly despite what the series showed,multiple sultans were deposed which was previously unheard of and damaged the power stability in many ways,in reality it came down to Murad IV to fix this mess and make the empire strong again. Women cant rule an empire,nothing good happened while they ruled. Selim II reign was stale and uneventful except for a naval disaster,Murad IIIs reign was worse,Mehmed IIIs reign was also a mess since he left power to his mother,then Ahmed I weakened the sultanate of women by banishing Safiye Sultan and finally things started getting good again,after him it was disaster that led to many rebellions,revolts and treachery that would only be fixed by Murad IV when he ended his mothers regency. Whatever little "stability" the empire experienced under the sultanate of women was because of the previous work of sultans like Fatih Mehmed,Yavuz Selim I and Kanuni Suleiman I. Other than that as you can see the empire was in a weak state whenever the Sultanate of Women was at large Read some real history instead of just watching this drama,its full of inaccuracies and false propaganda even though its well made.

False information. Women’s sultanate extended the life time of the empire actually. Selim II was alcoholic and he was not interested in politics, so he left all the business to Sokollu Pasa, Murad III was also not interested in politics, he spent all his life in the palace and had more than 50 child, 40 of them lived. Mehmed III was cruel and killed his 20 brothers and killed one of his son. Ahmed I was 13 years old when he became a king. Osman II as well was very young and unexperienced. Mustafa I and Ibrahim I was mentally ill and Murad IV was 9 years old when he became the king. So, the kings in that era were either not interested in politics, little kids or mentally ill. No way they could rule the whole empire. Women as you think didn’t just sat in the palace and drink coffee and play games. They were improving the international relations with other kingdoms, they were building castles, paying soldier’s money, inspecting the armies etc. Tue castle in Gallipoli that Turhan Sultan built was used even in the WWI, almost 300 years after. Even after the Sultanate of Women, the empire and kings kept having a lots of problems.

Originally a new position was created when Roxelana married Suleiman in 1533. But until 1595, this position did not have much power. They used to advise the Sultan but they did not have much power. But they had trusted men at court to ensure that their children could sit on the throne after the Sultan's death. But everything changed after Mehmed ascended the throne in 1595. Mehmed was not very good at managing the empire. So his mother controlled everything. From 1585 onwards, Safia had acquired considerable power in the harem. After Safia this power goes to kosem. No worthy ruler sat on the throne after Ahmed. Although Murad ascended the throne in 1623, he was very young, so all power rested with Kosem. But when Murad became an adult, he usurped all power from his mother Kosem in 1632, returning the empire to its pre-1585 state. But after Murad's death in 1640, Ibrahim who was mentally retarded sat on the throne. As a result Kosem came back to power. However, in 1651 Mehmed's mother Turhan killed Kosem and took that power herself. Mehmed was young so the power went to his mother Turhan. But as Turhan was not as skilled as Kosem in managing the empire, he retired from the post in 1656 and abolished the post, and as Mehmed was young, all powers were transferred to the vizier Mehmed. And through this, the sultanate of woman ended

I firmly believe that if these women fought alongside each other rather than againsst each other then they could have conquered the continent and would have surely been more powerful.
