Cute skirt!! But! Have you seen modern gypsies?? Um. That’s not ANYTHING like what they wear! Edit: well okay. I’m going to temper my statement a little. It looks nothing like what they *appear* to wear in the reality TV show, “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.” Even on not-wedding days!!

I made two tote bags with my Singer 4411 before I had to start putting the tension on max to not get loopy bottoms. So I'm returning it and getting one of these.

Watching this again and have a question for you as I search through your videos. I have been given some 4 inch squares of many different colors. I am searching for a good pattern for these . I hope you can help me out with such an odd size as 4 inches.
@piecesofthepast20 күн бұрын
Hello and thank you for your lovely comments! I do not have a specific pattern for 4" squares in mind, but I do have a suggestion. I would try looking for a pattern that calls for 2" squares and cut these down. Also, you can really take any pattern that calls for a "square" and change the sizes of the surrounding pieces to work with your 4" squares. Sort of like you can take the pattern in this video and make the squares any size you like. Hope that makes sense. ~Deborah

Question - can this machine accept 2 spools of thread to use a double needle? I saw only 1 spindle. Great video, glad I found your channel. Thank you, looking forward to seeing more of your work.
@piecesofthepastАй бұрын
Yes. This machine can. When in doubt, a good indicator is the faceplate where the needle goes into the bobbin area. On the Juki 2010Q, for example, there is only a single tiny hole for the needle to drop through. On this machine there is a more oval slot. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!! ~Deborah

Does this technique work if you are using strips in middle of the shirts. ???
@kathycunningham8394Ай бұрын
Borders around the block is what i mean
@piecesofthepastАй бұрын
Yes. You do have his technique one shirt at a time. So, you can border each shirt as needed to fit the space you are trying to fill. It won’t look like a traditional sashed quilt, but o frequently add borders to my shirt panels to get them to a size that I need for that space I am trying to fill on the row. ~Deborah

I love your system with mini bolts, but I don't have the patience for all that. I have a lot of "large scraps " - probably fat qtr size I inherited from my Mom. I keep them in clear bins, roughly sorted by color. Then bins for novelty fabrics, floral prints. holidays, etc. I have started to cut pieces for specific sizes from smaller scraps when I finish a project to make scrap quilts, but I prefer the crumb quilt method of "sew and trim." Not really organized, but works for me.
@piecesofthepastАй бұрын
Sounds pretty organized to me. Beats my original system when I first started of keeping everything in grocery bags. LOL. Thanks for watching and for the great comment! ~Deborah
