Does the power level setting actually control the voltage value being sent to the element or does it just cycle the element between on and off? If it is not cycling then I would be interested.

Just got this filter, do you really have to you a hose to flush the carbon before filtering, or can you just fill the top bucket with hot water and let it run through, similar to how its done with the Still Spirits pro filter.

great nfobut I dont want to drink it, just use the 50% for tincture. If the charcoal is only good up to 40%, how do you filter it when its over that?

lovely video, but it concerned me when you said to put a cork into a scew top bottle if the cap is not air tight. I was under the impression that it is dangerous to do that as the neck of the botttle when has proviously has been made to have a screw cap makes the bottle neck thinner and weaker so the method of inserting corks into them has a high risk of shattering. I use the novetwist caps which appear expensive but I have been able to reuse them several times with no air leaks.

what should be the S.G. be in the wine for a 75cl champagne bottle prior to corking to make a homemade champagne. I usually prime a bottle with 2 teaspoons of sugar. But I had some wine left over from a gallon demi-john and I have put it in a champagne bottle the S.G. is 1000, is this to high and is it dangerous to bottle with that S.G. hope you can help. P.S. I miss your shop in Liverpool. kind regards jimmy jones

Honestly you need a heater pad and a brew belt on constantly for at least 6 days ... at least... the more heat the better in my experience. Its 2 quid in electric so you're not breaking thr bank if both devices are 25 watt

I had the inline version. The result was very good so with that in mind I can recommend it. However, it's made of porous and brittle plastic so when I changed the carbon filter it only took a light tightening of the plastic wheel nut to break the shaft that goes through the carbon filter. I seriously doubt that it's possible to repair it reliably. The container in which the carbon filter sits, is of good quality plastic, though, so I give it 10 points for filtering results 2 points for build quality

Sorry mate, tried it number of times. 6h for 40% 1.2l is overstatment. Have 2 of those so called filters, doesn't take more than 3hr. Only what I loose is ABV(40% before, 38% after) aftertaste/wonky smell still in place. Waste of money. Better to distill 2nd time.
