I just can't get behind "Any %" runs because when the *only* goal is "get to the credits as fast as possible", the speedrunner is massively incentivized *TO PLAY AS LITTLE OF THE GAME AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN* . This is a deal-breaker for me - I came to see someone who's mastered the game and its mechanics, not someone who can clip through walls and walk around outside the maps and fool the game into skipping entire levels for 98.5% of the "play" time. When the focus becomes "how can we skip more of this game?" instead of "how can we optimize our game play and routes?", I'm out. I know a lot of people really enjoy seeing games broken into tiny little pieces by "Any %" runners, but it's 100% not for me.
