Ive had two of these pieces of garbage over the years.. a 2010 850 that was nothing but problems and then traded that in on a 2012 which spun the timing chain gear on the crank after 2 hours of riding so.. yea I got it fixed and got rid of it and picked up a Rubicon and 10 years later.. not a single issue to report.

Just finished doing the same replacement. After completion I have no slip in my steering shaft. However when turn the power on and turn the steering nearly all the way left the EPS shakes uncontrollably, it’s fine when you turn right. Did anyone have this problem, is there a correct “centered” point that the eps box shafts to have to be at when you reconnect it to the upper and lower shafts
@dalechristensen3433
@dalechristensen3433 Жыл бұрын
It's been a few years since I installed the lower steering but I think I marked the position of the shaft during the disassembly. You might need to disassemble and center the shaft.

I just did the replacement as well and have the same exact problem. I have no idea what the hell is going on. I marked the splines and reinstalled the same way it came out. I’m wondering if the unit needs recalibrating possibly? If some one knows please share.

I was able to fix mine by completely taking it apart again and making sure to tighten all of the shaft screws fully before the bolts holding the eps unit in. My hunch is one of two things happened. Either the above fixed it because the eps was slightly off alignment with the shaft and that was causing feedback, or the first time I only tested it which the ATV still on the jack, and the second time I tested it with the wheels on the ground. Hoping it was the first and I didn’t waist a lot of time.

My 850 seems to be bogging out and gets hot I was thinking I used bad gas and started using higher octane but same problem still what do you think could be the issue??
@dalechristensen3433
@dalechristensen3433 2 жыл бұрын
My 850 bogged out and died when the fuel pump was failing. You might consider checking your air filter and spark plugs first. The fuel filter is on the fuel pump assembly and if you want to clean it you should probably just replace the entire assembly. This would rule out any problems with the filter and pump. Also, if there's a leak in your fuel line it would cause the problem you have.
