good effort. I wish i had the shed space. I picked up a 97 vs ute. Had hit a roo plus flogged. all the running gear is now fixed/replaced. @vautorefinishing76727 ай бұрын
Yeah pretty expensive, funnily enough Machine grey uses one of the same tinters that is also used in the 46v ground coat in ppg and its expensive as so i fully understand how he was blown away

Thanks Don , glad to hear you enjoyed it. I wasnt sure if people would enjoy it because its not the normal ‘cool resto’ sort of stuff that i normally do. I’ll do more depending on the car and colour but may be few and far between but we’ll see how this one goes cheers

No worries man, let me know what it was about the compressor that made you feel underwhelmed so i can try and replicate it and see if mine differs at all?
@lachlanwoods39408 ай бұрын
Good to hear your keen mate, reckon the Ute will come up a treat, are you revealing the colour early?? 😂 My compressor won’t go above 105-110 psi for a start on the gauge at. Least, and with just one orbital going continuous it runs out of steam, you can hear. The sander change pitch as it loses air? Just seems to not keep up how I thought it would, should be able to run 2 of those sanders flat out?? 🤷♂️

You'll fuck that compressor if you paint near it , the teflon can't take any abrasion, I know there are filters but stuff still gets in
@vautorefinishing76728 ай бұрын
Thats all good mate cheers for the heads up, im not painting anything in the shed just flickin some epoxy and primer here and there but will keep that in mind, was looking at moving it towards the back end of the shed anyway to prevent it getting full of dust and overspray
@stephencordiner17539 ай бұрын
Awesome project and thanks for sharing your knowledge. Would love to see the mechanical side of the project too if you tackle that. Newbie question when applying epoxy one area at a time is it necessary to mask/stop overspray on previously epoxied panels? I figure it needs to be scuffed prior to filler/hi build anyway so haven’t bothered at this stage.
@vautorefinishing76729 ай бұрын
Nah mate you dont have to mask off previously done panels as you said its got to be rubbed anyway. I only do it because im just in the habit of doing it, i dont want overdpray over the dash or engine bay so i could get away with just masking those up
