looks great i use the soft paper too for sanding but i use 500 and 600 before colour doing engine bays are a pain so many hidden spots to cover off the gun looks good 😀😉

Thanks mate, yeah i use the 500-800 for colour if im spraying basecoat and 320-400 for 2k/dg Its good stuff i like it. They definately can be a pain and this one had all those hidden spots 😅

@@vautorefinishing7672 Just looked at the XD bay here at home and that’s far smoother with those small touches! Can’t beat the sound of an 8 regardless of its origin! Have to say I’m a Ford man but live the sound of the old 5litre commos! 🤙👊
@vautorefinishing7672 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it does look better with a little smoothing, they arent a very nice looking bay design wise in my opinion but was worth doing the extra. Yeah im the same mate im a holden man but i like anything thats tough haha

Cheers Ben 👍🏼 whens your next video going up? I need to watch your latest video im keen on the panel making i love playing around with patch panels but need to buy some equipment
@Ben-Dixey Жыл бұрын
👍 what equipment do you need ? The English wheel I made, they don't have to be super ridged like people think, a fabricated rather than cast frame is plenty strong enough. A fly press is one of the best tools I ever bought, super for a number of tasks but folding steel it's brilliant at. Having a little break from video making, it got a bit too much because I have two channels. The other channel I built a full scale helicopter and have been flying it until recently. You are a very talented sprayer, it's difficult to get such a nice finish in an engine bay. Awkward gun angles, restricted movement and reaching over. I'm impressed.

Im looking at buying an english wheel , folder and bead roller and shrinker stretchers. They make smaller models for hobbyists that arent too expensive here in Aus. Havent heard of a fly press? maybe its called something else here? Ive watched a bunch of videos to get an idea on how the machines work and what they do but need to start practicing and probably wasting a bunch of sheetmetal 😂 thanks mate appreciate that 👍🏼 what you made a helicopter? Wow you must be pretty bloody talented yourself mate thats impressive

@@vautorefinishing7672 ah I forgot that fly presses weren't available everywhere. If you Google the name fly press I would have thought it would come up, maybe there is a different name for it over there. Makes are Norton, sweeny & blocksidge and edwards etc. English company's I believe so maybe they are only available in England ? Over here you can buy a second hand one for £200 and it will do the job of an expensive metal folder. I have an 8ft Edwards folder but the flypress does a better job. It's the same principle as a brake press where you have a 'V' bottom form and a top knife, very tight a neat bends if you want it, likewise if you want a radius then weld a bit of bar on the top knife. The cheap shrinker stretchers are fine in my opinion, used everyday. I also use my English wheel as a deep throat shrinker stretcher, made tooling to be able to use it as both but that involved a bit of engineering. Yeah the helicopter was a fun project for a few years. I might build another one, maybe a single seat chinook, haven't decided yet. I do like helicopters.

Hi, well done on giving us good content. I've noticed some of the videos have some flickering(probably because of LED lighting), I'm just wondering if you change the frame rate on your camera if that may help remove some flicker. Keep up the good work. 🙂
